The world never quite feels the same when we lose our loved ones, we may push on, attempt to feel like life will be fine as we continue the life lived without their light. Yet we must if we are to inspire the next generations, the ones to carry on our fight. Still, though, we feel that pain, and we would not trade anything for it, because we find out, that pain is worth all the hurt for all the good that made it possible.
" Wendy! " Ford bellows out as he pulls himself out of the bed of the truck he was planning to use.
" Ya, What's up? " Wendy sported a few grease stains and went without her usual overshirt in trade for being cooled off a bit more while she works on the cars with Ford and Stan.
" Come here and see if you can figure this piece out. I swear I measured it just fine but-- "
" You forgot to apply the grease... or the super grease I should say. Remember you measured these parts to form onto each part. " Wendy looked concerned as Ford realized what he had done wrong, the bucket of solution he had created to kill friction until items dried was right there beside him and he still forgot.
" I'm... wow I'm sorry for bothering you, Wendy. " Ford rubs the back of his head before turning to reach down and set the cap part into the grease and shifting it back and forth to get it nice and in the ridges of the screwed-on section.
" Hey, it will be ok. " Wendy knew it was rough on everyone, seeing the work they had been doing with Dipper, seeing all of the results that were possible because of his creative streak.
" Ya, ya... I know. " Ford spoke softer lately, Robert had already spoken his two cents that it was nobody's fault except for that freak. Stan even showing his resolve strengthened as of late as signs began to show the Entity was close to breaking through, not even needing the portal technology, and even the wards that Bill provided were beginning to fail.
" You know... eventually he will feel better, but it won't be till he and Stanley get back on that boat. " Bill walked up beside Wendy and simply watched Ford from afar, Wendy has returned to the car meant for Dipper only to be tuning it for Bill since he had joined in, but was busy trying to find any mystical help he could.
" I am sure he will, but till then Gravity Falls is just reminding him of Dipper, reminds us all. " Wendy slipped into the driver seat to check the triggers along with the steering wheel which had their own functions. Bill soon enough in the passenger side and placed his hat into his lap and the cane resting against the door's handle.
" I'm not sure the Pines will remain here after these events... Mabel would have broken everyone just as bad... though I think I might stay to watch over the place. Maybe the legacy of the Pines family will return. " Bill brushed off the top of his hat, though nothing gathered on it or himself like dust or soot, he still acted like he had to keep clean because of the supernatural effect lingering from binding with Dipper.
" Well I will probably leave as well, my dad will understand... might join Pacifica when she heads back out of the country so I can explore the world, get some work. She'll probably try to make me carry her luggage. " Wendy smirked a bit giving a jab at Pacifica mentally just for their recent spats, though they had been growing closer because of them too.
" Haha. " Bill laughed so plainly for a moment, but he chuckled under his breath at the thought and would sigh all too human-like. " Well, I will make sure you always have a place to return, keep this home he loved so dearly the same..." Pulling himself out of the car, Wendy would just look over as the fleeting sight of Dipper seemed to flow so perfectly, Bill was a true copy of the boy she had come to love as a man. A single tear shed but Wendy pushed back that rise of emotion to continue her work.
