Walking deeper into the building, with the shikigami on the lead and you walking next to it carefully, you all entered a spacious room.
The characteristic, foul, metallic smell of blood hit your nostrils and made your stomach churn as the four of you spotted a pile of dead bodies. Or more specifically the remains of them. You looked away as Itadori run towards the dismembered corpses while Kugisaki muttered 'atrocious' next to you.
"That's... three people, right?" Megumi hesitantly questioned and Itadori crouched down to properly examine the bodies.
"Let's take that body back" Itadori said after a few momenrs of silence, as you and Kugisaki both looked up at him.
"Huh?!" the orange haired girl said. "It's that woman's son" Itadori explained, rerembering that woman you met earlier.
"Yuji..." you muttered, looking at the boy's slumped back, not knowing what to do."But..." Kugisaki started saying but was cut off by Yuji.
"His face isn't too badly mangled. His mother won't accept it if we tell her he's dead, but we don't have a body" the boy explained as you looked at Fushiguro, who was obviously really mad.
"Megumi! Don't-" you tried to stop the boy by grabbing his elbow but he shrugged your hand off and approached Yuji, lifting him from his hood.
"We have to find and verify two more. Leave that body behind" Megumi ordered. You didn't catch the rest of their fight, as your eyes widened with fear, an uneasy feeling making you shiver.
"Guys..." you muttered looking from side to side, sensing the dark aura of the curse approachimg you all, but the boys kept arguing.
"Guys" you said louder this time as Nobara looked at you and then back at the two boys worried. The were grabbing each other's collars, glaring and almost ready to throw hands.
"Then why did you bother saving me?!" Yuji shouted angrily, as both you and Nobara approached them. You stomped your feet on the ground, basically fuming. Instead of being cautious for the lurking cursed spirit, they were fighting like children.
You understood that it was the pressure that made them act like this, you felt stressed too, but their actions could only cause more problems. You pushed both their shoulders, separating them as they turned to face you with surprised expressions.
"Knock it off, both of you! Now's not the time!" you yelled at them as they looked at you, taken aback by your unusually furious and loud tone.
"She's right! Cut it out! Christ what are you two doing?! You're both idiots! Think about the time and place if you-" Kugisaki shouted but was interrupted by a hole on the ground pulling her in. You turned around trying to reach out and grab her but she was already gone. You gasped, watching her disappear like that, as Yuji muttered her name confused. You looked back at the boys only to find them staring at the wall behind you. Turning your face, you saw that Megumi's Demon Dog was destroyed, crashed by a wall.
