The sound of a page turning filled the air, a pair of stone gray eyes trailing over the words in the book, deep in the other world she held in her hands. It was one of the perks of working in the Bon Temps library, she could read as many books as she wanted and not get in trouble for it. All she had to do was make sure all of the books were in there proper places and properly cataloged, with the occasional person coming in to read or check out a book as well. But on her free time, which was most of the time, she would sit in the front desk with her other world. One could say the woman had the most boring job in town, but it pays well, so she didn't have to worry about her expenses, even though she lived with her grandmother and sister. She didn't care if she was twenty-one years old and still living with her grandmother and sister, it just meant cheaper rent and more money to spend for herself, even though she rarely did.
She turned the page once more, the phone ringing filled the silent air, causing the woman to reach over, not taking her eyes from the page and picking up the phone,
"Bon Temps Library, this is Morgan" she greeted automatically "how can I help you?"
"Your phone is on silent again, isn't it?" the voice of her best friend asked
"It always is when I'm at work, Rae" her eyes moving to the next page "it is a library after all"
"Your shift ended an hour ago" chuckling lightly "close your book and get to Merlotte's, you're probably starving by now"
Morgan heard the dial tone, informing her that her best friend had hung up first, causing her to put the phone back on the receiver, finishing her chapter before placing her bookmark in the book, closing it and gathering her things. She put her book in her bag, gathering the other two she owned before walking out from behind the desk to check the other two exits, wanting to make sure they were locked before heading to the main entrance. Punching in the security code, shutting off the lights, Morgan walked out of the building, locking the main entrance and nudging the door, making sure it was locked before heading to her mountain bike. She unlocked the silver chain, putting it around the bike before throwing her leg over, letting herself roll down the small hill before settling herself down in the seat.
Now, she has her driver's license, she just didn't have a car, which is what she was saving up for, and she was looking at a specific car. So in the meantime, Morgan would ride her bike too and from work, and she actually chose it because it was her form of exercise since she would sit down at work most of the time. As she peddled, her eyes trailed over everything, wanting to be extra careful because of the vampires that lurked in the shadows. Ever since they came out of the coffin, her friends and family had wanted her to get a ride from someone since the library was close to the edge of Bon Temps and more toward Shreveport. To others, it may have been a long ride, but she always enjoyed it.

Sometime later, Morgan pulled up to Merlotte's, hopping off her bike and resting it against the wall of the building, adjusting her bag as she walked inside. The chatter of people filled her ears, making her instantly miss the silence of her library, but it was something that couldn't be helped. It wasn't as if she could silence everyone at the wave of her hand. But it would be nice to. Morgan sat down at her usual spot at the table by the kitchen, waving to Lafayette as she sat down, setting her bag in her lap as her best friend sat down across from her, sliding a glass of Coke in her direction, which Morgan was thankful for. The other woman's name is Raven, one who preferred black clothing, a septum piercing with black hair to pull it all together. Morgan was the opposite in the hair color department, the woman having snow white hair and triple pierced ears. The two had been best friends since they were kids, Morgan being a two years younger, same birthday, yin and yang.
