"I could have that dry-cleaned for you" Morgan said, looking at Sookie as she scrubbed the rug that was stained with the werewolf's blood
The blonde jumped slightly with a small yelp, a snicker emitting from the woman with white hair as she turned around, lightly glaring at Morgan,
"You've met Alcide" she said, gesturing to the werewolf next to her
". . I remember" nodding slightly "what are you doing here?"
"We ain't got nothing to do today" shrugging slightly "thought we'd help you out with Bill"
"Plus, the pack is going to be sniffing around" Alcide added "you ain't getting nowhere without an in"
"Why would you help?" Sookie asked, looking at Alcide "you don't know me"
"I don't" he agreed "but my mate does" placing a hand on Morgan's waist "I also don't do favors for vamps, but I'll do anything for her" looking down at her
He didn't care if she was half vampire, she could be full blooded and he was sure he'd still love her. Knowing that she bared his mark made it all the more better,
". . Why don't y'all come on in?" Sookie asked "I'll make some tea"
Morgan gave her a small nod, walking up the porch steps with Alcide, the blonde holding the door open for her guests, allowing the two of them to walk inside first. She hadn't really gotten a good look of the interior of the house when she and Eric were dealing with the werewolf. Now that it was day, she could see that there was still a little bit of work to do, something she wouldn't be able to help with, and she had already done most of the work when she moved out, so she was surprised there was still more to be done months after that. Morgan and Alcide sat at the table, the werewolf pulling the chair out for his mate as Sookie quickly got to work on the tea,
"When you said I wouldn't be able to get anywhere, what did you mean?" The blonde asked as she got three glass cups are "are you friends with them?"
"I wouldn't call them friends exactly" Alcide replied "my ex is banging their leader"
". . Sorry" sincerity in her voice
"That pack is a cancer to our kind" he continued "werewolves lived in Jackson for almost two hundred years without a single human knowing it. Now these sons of bitches come to town and there's a crime streak a mile wide. Not to say the rest of us are above violence, but you shut the barn door behind you"
"One of them came here last night" she informed "I'm not sure if Morgan told you"
"She did" nodding slightly as she set tea cups down in front of them "looks like we're in one hell of a fight. You gonna be ready for more of that in Jackson?"
"They took someone I love from me" sitting down in front of them "I don't know about you, but I was raised to fight back"
"After a little trial and error" Morgan commented
"Great" Alcide said, amusement in his voice "you'll get us all killed" taking a drink of his tea
"I'll pack light" Sookie replied
∆
It was safe to say Morgan stood out a little as she entered a bar called Lou Pine's Beer with Alcide and Sookie. She wore a cropped shirt, long skirt and heels, her shawl hanging off of her arms but curled around her elbows, usual jewelry and makeup on her eyes. Not to mention her white hair and pale skin drew eyes on her as well, the kind that was easy to ignore.
"It may not look like much, but Lou Pine's, it's the oldest Were bar in Mississippi" he informed
Sookie adjusted her white lace top with quarter length sleeves, looking around the bar just as Morgan did. Most of the women here were dressed in cropped shirt and short shorts, while the men reminded her of bikers, specifically from Sons of Anarchy,
"Alcide" an African American man greeted, earning a smile, slapping his hand into the man's, "it's nice to see a face from the old pack"
"I figured the new wolves are drinking enough for all of us" Alcide replied
"Mmhmm" nodding slightly "who are the civilians?"
"Morgan Du Locke" the woman with white hair replied
"Hollis" the man replied, holding a hand out
She shook his hand, her hold being firm, the man tilting his head slightly when he caught a proper whiff of her scent,
"Damn" he said, leaning back in his seat as he released her hand "you found your mate"
"I did" Alcide smiled
"Congratulations, man" returning the gesture "talk about a major upgrade from Debbie. What about the other one?"
"She's cool" he replied "she's a friend"
". . Am I not dressed properly?" Sookie asked, looking at them
"You look like dinner" Hollis replied, looking at her, his smile dropping
"We'll keep an eye on her" Morgan replied
He gave her a small nod, Alcide placing a gentle hand on her back, leading her further into the bar with Sookie right behind them,
"We're gonna have to split off" he informed "they see you with us, they ain't gonna talk"
"What about Morgan?" Sookie asked
"I'm his mate" she replied "they won't pay me any mind"
And it was true. During her months of training, she had learned a lot of new tricks, even how to hide her scent. Right now, if a werewolf was close to them, all they would be able to smell were the herbs and flowers she used for elixirs, the very scent of a witch. But Alcide's scent is also mixed with hers, which only happens with mates.
"Where are you going to be?" Sookie asked
"Over there" Alcide replied, looking in a direction "with my guys. Make it quick, for your own sake"
"I'd hate to have to crush someone just because you get in trouble" Morgan added
Sookie gave them a small nod, walking off as Alcide and Morgan walked to the bar, both of them watching her closely. Now that her power was awakened, she was able to shift between the thoughts of other people, ignoring the ones who were having personal issues, and the ones who wondered when their next fuck would be. Her eyes turned to the man that stood, speaking to Sookie for a moment before taking her into the back room, earning a cheer from the men he was with. Sookie's scream filled her ears, which caused Morgan and Alcide to run to the room, the werewolf pulling the biker from fhd blonde, punching him in the face. Morgan stood in front of Sookie as he tackled Alcide, the two of them beginning to fight, the other patrons encouraging it. The women stood at the entrance to the room as two more men grabbed Alcide and held him up, allowing their supposed leader to land a few hits, Morgan using her wind strike to knock them away, unintentionally bring Alcide down with them.
The biker that tackled him looked toward her, his eyes widening slightly as she walked toward him, a hard gust of air throwing him back against one of the tables, causing him to crash into it and land on the floor. Patrons stepped back as she helped Alcide to his feet, Hollis rushing over to them with a bat that he was ready to use,
"You little bitch!" The biker yelled
He got up, running toward Morgan, but Hollis used the bat, hitting him in the chest, causing him to land on the floor once more,
"I'm gonna run out of bats if he keeps this up" he said "now get him out of here. Now!"
The men that held Alcide back, pushed themselves to their feet, grabbing the man that attacked Sookie and helping him up, taking him out of the bar.
