Chapter 114: We Lost You For 18 Whole Years...

Then Arlo looked at the torturers. They understood his single and pulled the cloth out of the woman face. The woman took a long time to open her eyes as she blinked them. It looked like she was fixed up hurriedly so that they couldn't at least see how she looked like. 

When that woman saw Lisa, she was stunned. But then her dead eyes sparkled as if she found a new ray of hope. She started speaking like a crazy person. 

" You've found her! You've found her! Let me go! Please let me go now! You finally found that bitch! Because of her... Because of her, we were locked up and tortured all this time. Haha! We should have not let her go that easily. We shouldn't have sold her to some human traffickers. We should have tortured her until she died. She should pay for all I have been through!!!"

Arlo's face contorted in anger as well as Alex and Emma's. That woman probably didn't know what she was telling. She wanted to beg to let her go but she spoke her true thoughts in the middle without realizing it. It looks like she had gone insane.

Arlo looked at the torturer who then kicked that woman hard on the stomach. She screamed in pain and then again, she begged them to let her go now that Lisa is finally found. She had gone completely insane. Sometimes she cursed Lisa and yet sometimes she said she is thankful that they found her and so let her go. 

When that woman smiled nastily again while laughing like a mad person, Lisa recognised her as her eyes widened. She looked at that woman again and was confirmed that she was the same person that was in her nightmare.

" She-She is the one... That night, in the car, she was there! Yeah! She was sitting in the front with him... "  Then Lisa looked at Arlo with horrified eyes.

Hearing her, Arlo, Emma and Alex again felt anger bubbled in them. Hearing from her mouth was more painful than knowing the truth. When Lisa looked at him with those eyes, Arlo felt hurt. So much so that tears almost fell from his blood-red eyes.

Emma looked at him and felt bad. She indicated the torturer to pull the cloth out of that man head. When the cloth comes out of him, Lisa and Alex were frozen in their places. Especially, Lisa, she was like the thunderstruck her.

Lisa kept staring at him for a long time until she heard Emma's voice.

" You are confused right?! I will tell you. That man,  he is Dane Gonzalo. Your fathers' twin. He was jealous of your father and envied him. Finally, when your father was going to be promoted to the general position, he couldn't control himself and schemed to take our most precious person away from us. He collided with this woman who liked your father and was jealous of me. She wanted to destroy our lives and strike while the iron is hot. They succeeded in their scheme and took you away from us. Until now, your father kept trying his best to search for you. He never gave up on you and promised me he wouldn't talk to me until he found you. When he found you at the ball, he was probably too scared to suddenly give me such news. He may himself couldn't get out of the shock and when he wanted to tell me, I already knew... "

Lisa looked at Arlo with red eyes. The truth was too much for her to take. Then Emma spoke again.

" After all, no matter how bad a person is, they can never hurt their own child as long as they are still a human. As much as I know, your father loved you more than anything else. I was weak as I hid behind him and told him to take all the responsibility. I told him not to talk to me unless it's about you. He took all the blame on himself as it was his brother who did this to him. He loved you more than his country. More than his duty to protect the citizens of Alencica. More than anything else. You were always the apple of his eyes."

" That night, it was your birthday. We held a party for you. Your father couldn't make it on time as he was recently promoted to the general position. You were sulking all day at your birthday because of that. When he finally came, the birthday party was already over and all the guests have left. You didn't talk to him for a long time. Finally, he convinced you with his birthday gift for you and a promise that is still not fulfilled. He gifted you your favourite chocolates that we didn't allow you to eat usually because it may cause harm to your teeth. He didn't give you a very expensive gift but something you desired as you already have everything you ever wished for. You took the chocolates but still sulked. Then he took you in his arms and promised to take you and me on a vacation for three days. He said we will go to the beach since you liked it so much previously. Then you finally stopped sulking and played with him. You made your father serve you willingly while I watched from the side. When it got late, I stopped both of you and took you to take a bath. After bathing you, I put those cute bunny pyjamas on you as you requested for it. I hugged you until you fell asleep while your father recited the stories for you. After you fell asleep, we also went to sleep as we were tired. Before we fell asleep, we were still discussing our plans for the vacation and how to make it special for you. We were still thinking about waking up early in the morning and surprising you by taking you there while you are still asleep but who knew when we woke up, all we found on your bed was an unkept blanket and a teddy bear. We went insane and aimlessly looked everywhere we could without sleeping for a whole week. Then your father's friend came and knocked some senses into us. We were so distorted that we couldn't think with our minds. Finally, your father used his mind and connections to find out what happened. After near 6 months, we found out Dane did it. Your father didn't think for a moment that he was his brother and tortured him endlessly to find out about you as soon as possible but it was already o late. We lost you for 18 whole years... "
