Cooper had finally come to his senses and shoved Moe off of him aggressively. Cooper quickly jumped to his feet and ran out of the bathroom. What an amazing first day.
"Dr. Adler," Dr. Madrid said. Cooper jumped and looked at him. "Uh yeah. What it is?" Cooper asked. "I was just going to tell you you did good work. It's fine to freak out. It always happens. Soon you won't freak out and you'll know exactly what to do," Dr. Madrid said. Cooper smiled. "Uhm, okay," Cooper said. "And make sure you don't say the Q-word. Anyway, I'll see you later," Dr. Madrid said. Cooper nodded and walked to his office.
Cooper sat in his office doing paperwork when his gaze shifted from his papers to the bulletin on the wall. There was a flyer for the army hanging on the board. Cooper got up and took it down staring at it.
I got in a wreck doing this! The army is going to be a hella lot harder, Cooper thought still staring at the flyer. But I'll be a hero. And I get to help the very people I looked up to growing up.
Cooper's mind was made up. He shoved the flyer in the pocket of his coat and walked out of the room as Dr. Madrid was calling him.

Cooper arrived home and looked at the note on the fridge.
I'm out with the band, I'll see you at nine, -Carson.
Cooper walked to the phone, pulled out the flyer, and dialed the number that was on the flyer. Afterward, he slumped on the couch and sighed.
In a week, he'd be Bootcamp bound.
At nine Carson walked into the house. Cooper scrambled to pick up the paper and shove it in his pocket.
"Hey, babe," Carson said before leaning down and pecking Cooper's lips. "So, how'd your day go?" Carson asked. Cooper shrugged. "Fine," he said. "Well, next week we have a ticketed show! And all of the thousand tickets were sold out! Isn't that great! But I want you to come! You can come for free isn't that awesome!" Carson said excitedly. "I... I can't go," Cooper said. Carson's face fell. "Why not? It's on your day off, don't you wanna see me play?" Carson asked. "Of course I do... It's just...," Cooper pulled out the flyer and showed Carson.
Carson's eyes filled with tears. "Y-you're joining the army?" he asked. He then rose to his feet and tore the flyer in half. "What about our future together? Don't you love me?" Carson asked as tears ran down his face. "Of course, I do, Carson," Cooper said standing up. He tried to pull Carson into a hug but Carson stepped away. "HOW COULD YOU! AFTER EVERYTHING WE'VE BEEN THROUGH! YOU'RE LEAVING ME IN THE WORST WAY POSSIBLE! FUCK YOU! YOU CAN SLEEP ON THE FUCKING COUCH UNTIL YOU FUCKING LEAVE!" Carson yelled before running to the room and slamming the door.
Carson ran to the bedroom door and knocked. "Carson, please, just let me in. I love you, please," Cooper said. "No, just go away!" Carson said. "Carson, I'm not breaking up with you. I'll write to you every day, I promise," Cooper said.
A few minutes later Carson opened the door and pressed himself against Cooper's chest. "I love you, Cooper, so please just be careful. I don't wanna lose you," Carson said. "I'll be fine," Cooper said. "I'll be gone for three months and then I'll be back."
