Cooper rose to his feet and took Anna out of her bed as she began to cry. That was the second time that night she woke up crying. Cooper had fed her the first time which was about thirty minutes ago.

"C'mon, Anna, what's wrong?" Cooper asked bouncing Anna in his arms. Then Cooper remembered that Carson was the one who always got little Anna out of the crib when she cried. And Anna wasn't comforted by the sound of Cooper's voice but Carson's.

Cooper placed Anna back in her crib and flicked on his light. He dug around for a while before finding a picture of Carson in a box.

Cooper had put everything that belonged to Carson in a box. He didn't know when he'd be able to look at Carson's stuff again. But here he was digging out a picture of Carson for seven-month-old Anna.

Cooper place the picture in front of Anna. The girl grabbed the picture and put her mouth up to it as if she was kissing it. Anna then began to giggle and babble to the picture as if she was talking to Carson.

Cooper's eyes filled with tears at the sight.

My sweet Carson, I know you're watching over Anna. Cooper thought. I miss you.

Cooper walked into the hospital room and saw Joey laying on the bed. He was bandaged on his head and arms. He was awake but staring at the wall. It seemed the life was just drained out of him. He didn't even turn to look at Cooper as he walked into the room.

"J-Joey?" Cooper asked. Then Joey looked over at Cooper. His left eye was bandaged and it was most likely not there anymore. "Go away, Cooper," Joey said throwing his head on the pillow and squeezing his eye shut. "Let me die."

Cooper walked over to Joey's bed. "Joey..." Cooper said softly. "Go away!" Joey said half-yelling. "Please just leave me alone." "Please, tell me what's wrong," Cooper said. "I lost my eye, my leg, and my best friend since kindergarten! So please I wanna be left alone. I wish I never woke up from my fucking coma!" Joey said. "I miss him too, Joey," Cooper said sitting on the side of Joey's bed. "And living without him is hard. Coming home and knowing he isn't here is the worst pain I can ever experience. But I'm making it," Cooper said. Joey opened his eye and looked at Cooper. "You're strong, Joey, you'll make it," Cooper said.
