"MA! WE'RE ALL OUT OF PLUMS!" You screamed at the top of your lungs. Plums were your favorite fruit- you ate them all the time.
"WELL THEN GO GET SOME Y/N" Your mother yelled back.
You sighed then threw on some shoes and a jacket, making your way out the door and to the fruit stands.
Once almost there, you noticed a little commotion.
"Come on man, I just want some plums" You heard a voice say. You giggled a little, seeing Jerry (your favorite fruit vendor) arguing with a man.
A very attractive man at that.
"No, these are being saved for a specific customer."
"That's not fair! I got here first"
"She's a regular" Jerry shrugged
"Okay but your regular isn't here, now is she?" The man nearly yelled. You quickened your pace and finally made it over to them- catching their attention
"There she is!" Jerry rejoiced, handing you the plums he was withholding from the man.
You pulled out the money and gave it to him, locking eyes with the irritated stranger.
"I'm Y/N" you introduced yourself in hopes of making it less awkward
"I'm Bucky, the man you just stole plums from" He said
Your eyes widened as you realized who he was.
"Omg, you're Bucky Barnes! You're an avenger" You squealed. Bucky shushed you and looked around
"I kinda don't want people to know I'm here. Don't wanna attract any attention" he laughed
You laughed as well, turning to Jerry and jokingly shaking your head "Jerry, we don't withhold plums from avengers" you whispered
You picked up a brown paper bag, putting half the plums in there and handing them to Bucky.
"Thanks" He smiled. You smiled back, admiring how gorgeous his eyes were.
You two stared at one another before Jerry cleared his throat
"So are you gonna ask her out or what?" He asked
Bucky chuckled as you blushed
"I hope I'm not being too forward...but if you-"
"Yes" you interrupted, not even letting him finish
He pulled his phone out and you put your number in.
You two said your goodbyes and he walked off.
"I didn't know he was an avenger" Jerry said, "Just wanted to make sure you got your plums"
"Yeah, well- I appreciate that Jerry. And, you got me a date!" You kissed him on his cheek and made your way back home.
