Muntik ko ng maibato ang cellphone ko sa subrang frustration. I've been trying to open one of the files na galing sa system ng Zacirada pero hindi ko ma-open.
It has a password. And the thing is it looks confidential. Famiglia ang naka file name dito and it was so properly secured.
I was startled, almost dropping my phone when someone knocked at my door. I immediately hid my phone under my pillow.
"What do you want?" sigaw ko with a hint of frustration.
Bumukas ang pintuan at niluwa nito ang babaeng palaging naghahatid sa akin ng pagkain.
She looked pale when I glance at her. "Miss, pinapatawag po kayo ng Don sa office niya" nerbiyos niyang sabi habang nakatayo lang sa pintuan.
I groaned loudly. Palagi ko na lang nailalabas ang lahat ng galit at poot na nararamdaman ko sa sino mang gumugulo sa akin. And she isn't exception kahit wala naman siyang kasalanan sa akin.
"I don't want to!" matigas kong sabi while glaring at her direction.
She shifted her position as she tried to clear her throat. "Miss kapag hindi ka po daw pumunta ay iba na lang daw po ang ipapatawag niya" sabi nito at biglang isinara ang pinto.
Dammit! That devil!
"Wait! I'm coming!" sigaw ko
Inihatid niya ako sa kung saan ba banda ang office ng Don.
I silently cursed when she left me. I'm standing near the door thinking if I should knock or not. I then chose to knock since I had trauma of not knocking.
"Come in" rinig kong sabi sa loob.
Binuksan ko ito at dahan dahang pumasok. He's reading some documents while his laptop is his front. His office is typical one. Sa unahan ng executive table niya ay isang rectangle glass table na pinalibutan ng dalawang set of couch and a single couch.
"What do you want?" I said, a bit irritated and a bit scared.
Hindi siya nagsalita pero may itinuro siya sa unahan niya. Tinignan ko ito at nakita ko ang isang box sa na nakapatong sa table.
"What's this for?" naguguluhan na tanong ko
"Wear that tonight, you'll attend a party" walang ganang sabi niya, not bothering to look at me.
Nag-init ang ulo ko. "I don't have time partying!" naiinis kong sabi.
For all the things that's happening right now, party is the last part I wanted to do!
He tsked sabay baling ng attention niya sa akin. "Then call Cerene. She'll be attending if you can't!" galit niyang singhal
My heart beats pace. Hearing my sister's name being mentioned, made me paranoid. I don't want her to be involved in this kind of life.
"I'll attend. What kind of party at saan?" agad kong pagbawi.
I saw him crease his brow but then it's gone in a second. "Don't worry, You'll be wearing a mask. It's a party of Zanturis" tinitigan niya ako bago siya nagpatuloy. "I want you to know what they're up to" malamig niyang utos.
Para akong binuhusan ng malamig na tubig. How cruel fate can be? Why me! I need a break from these people. I don't know why they hate me! I've been crying while battling my emotions from conquering my system. My questions are eating me up everyday, thinking what's the difference between me, my other cousins and my sister.
