It's been a month since mapansin kong nag-iba si dad. I don't know why hindi ito napapansin ni mamita at ng kambal. But I've noticed, from the beginning.
I thought dad was just busy and decided to be lenient for a while but I was wrong.
I missed him scolding us for going home late. Weird but I did really miss it! But at the same time, dad being relent brought me an idea. I've been curious about my biological mother so I thought maybe papayagan na ako ni dad ngayon? Cause I'm not so young as I was before?
Nakahiga ako ngayon sa kama ko, thinking on how to bring the topic when a sudden knock on my door snapped me out of my thoughts.
"Celene iha, sasabay ka na daw mag breakfast sabi ng tatay mo," narinig kong sabi ni manang sa labas ng kwarto.
"Sige po, bababa na po ako."
Naghanda ako ng sasabihin habang pababa ako sa dining area. I'm determined to bring out the topic of meeting my mom. I will face the consequences of this. Kahit malala dahil kagustuhan ko naman ito.
But God! Who am I kidding! Just merely thinking about how dad would react made me freaked inside. I started to anticipate things to happen.
What if magalit na naman siya? What if this time worse na ang gawin nito kaisa sa nangyari dati?
God! I wouldn't want to repeat that unfortunate event!
Nadatnan ko silang naka-upo na sa dining table. Nakahanda na din ang mga pagkain. Ako lang ang hinihintay.
Umupo ako sa tabi ni Margaret. Sa harap ko ay si Mitchelle at katabi naman niya si mamita. Nasa kabisera naman si dad.
I tried to act nonchalant as possible. Even though deep inside I'm freaking!
"Ate, mabuti naman at sumabay ka na sa amin. Palagi ka nalang wala eh," nagtatampong sabi ni Mitchelle.
I snorted but tried smiling afterwards.
"Sorry, busy si ate." Kinurot ko ang pisngi nito at agad din nitong kinurot ang kamay ko. She don't want me pinching her face dahil hindi na daw siya bata.
Sadly, I can't help myself.
Habang kumakain kami ay panay ang kwento ng kambal sa mga ginagawa nila sa labas. It helps me relaxed myself.

At dahil sa nakita kong ngumiti siya, it gave me the courage to ask him about my mom. I inhaled deeply and shifted my position.
"Dad, can I say something?" agad kong sabi bago pa ito makatayo.
"What is it?" mahinahong sabi niya.
"Promise me na hindi ka magagalit ah," pagkumbinse ko sa kanya. Tumango ito bilang sagot.
