Chapter 44

Celene POV

The Unexpected.. 

After two weeks of getting all the papers and evidence that would land Don in jail for the rest of his life, I immediately sent it to Warith. 

Our plan is to get justice that accords to the law. Yes, Don killed two persons but I don't see myself killing him as a punishment. 

Cause certainly I'm not like him. 

I tried sneaking inside the control room for almost two weeks, hacking it to collect all the Don's dirty transactions. Thankfully, I haven't been caught by the guard patrolling in our corridors. 

I was dumbfounded the moment I got to know that Don assigned someone to patrol every corridor of the mansion. I mean, is that even necessary? Why not just patrol outside? Bakit pati bawat corridor ng mansion may nagpa-patrol din? 

Warith knows someone, a detective who's been after Don Craig, trying to land him in jail pero hindi ito mahuli huli. Palaging may ibang umaako ng kagagawan niyang krimin. 

But not right now! I've got all the evidence and necessary documents that will surely land him in jail. 

I immediately picked up my phone ng makita ang kanina ko pa inaantay na tawag.  "I sent all the evidence in your account, did you receive it?" agad kong tanong sa kabilang linya. I paced back and forth inside my room. 

"Relax Cele! I've got it all." rinig kong sabi ni Warith sa kabilang linya with his serious tone. "Now, all I want for you is to be calm and rest. Ako na ang bahala sa lahat, hmm!" pagpapakalma niya sa akin. 

"How can I possibly calm, Warith?" mahina kong bulong. This last two weeks, I find myself always on guard. Kaunting ingay lang ay matatakot na ako na baka alam na nila ang tungkol sa plano ko.

 And God! It drives me mad! 

"You've suffered enough Cele!... Let me handle the rest and let me carry the burden you've been carrying for yourself!"  sabi nito with a commanding tone. "And that's not a request but a command!"  singit niya pa. 

I just let out a long sigh when the call ended. I'm so thankful for Warith at the same time scared for his safety. Hindi ko maiwasang mag-isip ng masasamang scenarios and seriously it's making me restless. Most importantly it's affecting my heart! 

Hindi na ako magtataka kong any minutes now ay mag stop na lang itong mag beat. Cause seriously, with all the heartache I endured, swerte ko pa at buhay pa ako ngayon. 

I've tried calming myself and trusted Warith with the rest… cause he's right. It's time for me to rest and share my burden with others. 

It was when 7 in the evening ng bumukas ang kwarto ko at biglang pumasok si Cerene. She's always been entering my room this month. Kaya hindi na ako nagtataka kapag bumubukas na lang ang pintuan ko without permission. 

"Late ka atang mangungulit ngayon?" tanong ko pagkaupo niya ng kama ko. I was reading or more like reviewing some of my medical books I brought with me here in the Philippines. Nahanap ko na sana ang content na hinahanap ko about the heart ng bigla na lang pumasok si Cerene making me halt. 

"Well, I didn't get a chance to bother you this morning dahil wala ako… Ngayon lang ako nakabalik and I decided, I wouldn't sleep until I bother you!" nang-iinis na sabi nito. She grabbed the book in my hand and threw it beside my bed. 

I instantly rolled my eyes and gave her my blazing glare. 

So much for taking rest when you have a twin sister who's been bothering you non stop. But contrary to what I usually show na annoyed na annoyed ako sa pangungulit niya, the truth is I'm so thankful for her. Little did she knew, every time na andidito siya sa kwarto ko, nakakalimutan ko ang mga problema ko but I wouldn't tell her that.
