Athena POV
My mind haywired as I was stuck standing beside the door.
I couldn't choose whether to leave or to just ignore him? But damn! could I totally ignore him when he's literally shooting me an intense gaze?
A damn intense stare that makes me nervous to my core -- that made me hitch my breath -- that made me stuck in my position.
God! It's been two years and I still had this effect towards him?
And for the first time in a while, natuwa ako kay Fiona.
"Doc. Thena! I reserve you this seat for you!" nakangiti nitong tawag sa akin habang tinatapiktapik ang upuan sa tabi niya.
Hindi ko binalingan ang dalawa sa unahan at agad na lumapit kay Fiona who was seating fourth rows -- far enough to hide from the two in the front.
"Why are you late? Do you have a problem with your twin?" curious niyang tanong pagkaupo ko.
I forced a smile at her and just shook my head.
Hindi na siya nakapag tanong ulit ng magsalita ang mga tao sa unahan. The director -- Mr. David Rushtan -- informed us about the performance of the hospital and so far it's performing well. He mentioned many things but I couldn't focus.
Kahit anong pagsiksik ko sa upuan ay natatanaw ko parin si Ace. He was talking to Ashton pero baling siya ng baling sa akin. Nakakahalata na ang iba at napapatingin din sa akin.
"Thena! Do you know Doctor Zanturi?" parang inis na tanong ni Fiona sa akin. Binalingan ko siya at halatang gusto akong irapan ng gaga.
"What? No!" pagtanggi ko at iniwas ang tingin.
"Then explain to me why he keeps on glancing at you?" inis na nga niyang tanong ng makitang nakangisi sa akin si Ace.
I mentally rolled my eyes. "I don't know.. Why don't you ask him?" I said, trying not to sound annoyed.
Ano ngayon sa kanya kung panay ang tingin sa akin si Ace?
Don't tell me..
Shit! Don't tell me si Ace na ang punterya nito?
I sat straight at saka pinanliitan ng mata si Fiona and Jesus! She's gawking at Ace. Ang landi ng babaeng to!
"Stop gawking at him. He's probably married!" sabi ko dito para hindi na umasa.
Fiona giggled. She cocked her head at me with a grin on her face. "He's not! You're just late… you didn't hear him say he's single!... And why do you care? You have Warith already, right?" maldita nitong asik sa akin.
He's single?
What happened to Estelle then?
"Residents, Fellowship and interns.. I hope you all welcome these two gentlemen and learn from them!" pagtatapos ng speech ng Director.
Nagsipalakpakan ang iba. Some screamed na parang kilig na kilig.
Napatitig ako kay Fiona ng tumayo ito. She cleared her throat to get someone's attention.
"Doc. Zanturi and Doc. Laureir!" she trailed. She tugged hair behind her ear and smiled at them. "Let me tour you to our hospital!" malanding sabi nito...or maybe malandi lang pagkarinig ko sa tono niya.
"It's a pleasure, Doctora!" rinig kong sagot ni Ashton.
Hindi ako makatingin sa harap. I'm scared. Lalo pat pagkatapos na pagkatapos ni Tito David magsalita ay lumabas na ito, leaving us.
