Chapter 48

Athena POV

Since I didn't come back yesterday to the hospital, Fiona got intrigued and asked where I am. At hindi ko alam kung saan niya nalaman na magkasama kami ni Warith kahapon. 

Maybe she's stalking me or she has connections? But damn her obsession with him. Sinasabi ko namang walang kami ni Warith and that we're just friend pero ayaw niyang maniwala. 

And now just because she's jealous, she's bombarding me with work that's not even related to my field -- na pwede namang sa mga nurse na lang ipagawa.

"Why do I have to do this, Doc? This isn't part of my work!" nagpipigil kong inis na tanong kay Fiona. 

She arched her brow as she shot me a menacing glare. "I know. But since you're out yesterday… this will be your… Well, let's just say your punishment," she said as she stepped towards me. "Don't you feel ashamed? Just because you're close with Warith.. You think you can just leave your responsibility?" 

I snorted in annoyance. I didn't want to fight with this woman but she's crossing the line. As if It's my fault Warith wanted to talk to me yesterday! 

Feeling pissed off, I stepped up to her. "I do have shame Doc. Fiona! But is it my fault Warith wanted my presence yesterday?" I trailed off. I stepped up again and  was now smiling evilly at her. "But then, your obsession for him made me wonder why others want him so badly but I didn't? Should I give him a chance? Should I say yes to him?" 

I saw her eyes widen. Her lips parted. "Are… Are you threatening me?" she asked, stepping back. 

I shook my head. "Of course not.. I'm just saying, it's all thanks to you… I finally realized what I would be losing if I didn't take Warith seriously!" I tapped her shoulder and offered her a sweet smile. Now she looked threatened. 

With the unending list of things to do, binigyan ko siya ng pekeng ngiti at saka iniwan ito. 

"Thena!" she called, a bit nervous. 

Nagtuloy-tuloy lang ako sa paglalakad at binalewala ang pagtawag niya sa akin. 

I didn't mean what I said to her. It's just that she made me pissed beyond my limit and I know using Warith will make her shut. Thanks to her obsession! 

Kahit gaano pa ako kagalit kay Fiona ay ginawa ko parin ang mga pinaggagawa niya. I have no choice.. She's supervising me! 

And I really don't like what I did earlier because it shows no professionalism. I have to separate work from my personal life but then I have a limit too. 

For the whole day ay wala na akong pahinga. I tried finishing the work I had at may mga patient pa akong dapat asikasuhin. 

"Celene… I mean, Doc. Athena!" hingal na tawag sa akin ni Danica. She's a nurse here. It was shocking when I first saw her here working but later on we became friends. She's no longer the bitch I used to know. 

Binalingan ko ito. I'm so exhausted and I don't have time to spare for her. 

"I know you're busy but you have to come down!" she said nervously. 

I slit my eyes at her. I look down at the list I had and then look up at her again. "Why? I still have one more thing to do!" 

"Trust me.. Makakapag antay yan.. Mas gugustuhin mong bumaba kaisa dyan" 

I rolled my eyes. "Well, why can't you just tell me? Dami mo pang satsat" 

"Your sister is here. First ground!" sabi nga niya ng diretso.
