"Finally remembered who I am?" He asked.

I was about to respond but then remembered his quirk, I smiled showing that I realised something, I held my hand in front of me in a stopping gesture and breathed out flames.

I controlled them to show words,

"I would always trust you but we are competitors now,

You challenged me yourself" I smirked at those words,

"I still remember your quirk

So don't dare use it on me or else I will

Chase you to the ends of the earth with my fire after this.

Promise me

I know you wouldn't normally but it's just for the sports festival."

After I was done he smiled wider, "So you do remember, I was counting on you having forgotten since you didn't recognize me. Such a shame you'd have made a good pawn, alright I promise, I won't use my quirk on you"

I held out my pinky with a smile, just like we used to promise each other, his promise was not enough,

He rubbed the back of his neck with an embarrassed but not so embarrassed smile, "You got me again, but I can't promise to not do it when we are in battle"

I nodded in understanding.

He put his hands inside his pocket and held out his other hand to lock his pinky with mine.

I jumped to hug him immediately, he fell back a few steps in surprise and also a little red that I didn't notice, "I missed you, you left without saying goodbye! Other than Izu you were my only friend idiot!" I broke out of the hug and punched his chest. "It's so great to see you here at U.A too!" I said with a bright smile.

He didn't use his quirk on me as promised. He might have changed in character and looks quite a bit but not in these aspects. I was glad.

He smiled warmly, "I had no choice, besides you lucky bitches got 'heroic' quirks according to society and not us, I was shunned without even being guilty for anything" he held no real malice in his tone when referring to me.

"You know there's no such thing as villainous or heroic quirk, it's how you use it" I repeated the same thing I told him when we were young.

"Yeah yeah, but that didn't stop me from being bullied or criticized did it?" He said softly

It didn't seem like that stopped in the other schools either, "You will become a hero now won't you? Show the world why quirks like yours can be heroic too!" I smiled encouragingly. Just then I remembered, "Oh no! I have to go join my team, do you have everyone in yours?"

"Yeah unfortunately, I didn't think I'd run into you, I would have gotten you on my team instead, but I can dish one if you want."

"Let me guess, they were controlled?" I asked after processing his words and the meaning behind them. And also the fact that he tried to brainwash me earlier to most probably get me on his team since I must have been a better option.

He held a straight face, "yes"

"I can't convince you to not use your quirk can I?" I sighed, "I'm not judging, and it's not my choice either. Just remember to deal with the consequences after that" I said with a helpless pleading tone.

He nodded with his grin that looked like he didn't care. I went past him and ran to the grounds while waving back, "Alright gotta run, see you out there!"

Izu should have saved a place for me right? Now that I think about it, it's stupid of me to assume that.

He must have thought I didn't want to be on his team after telling him that I won't be really standing beside him except for cheering him on and on top of that I had disappeared.
