SHE DIDN'T know how Ricky or Ms. Jenn roped her into this, but here she was; sitting with the others as Ms. Jenn had just announced that she would be writing a song for the musical.
She still saw no interest in the musical and Beauty and the Beast in itself. Ms. Jenn had tried convincing her to be the unexpected Rose character, which she declined on multiple occasions. So, the part went to Nini instead.
But for now, the group had been focused on the North High video posted on their Instagram.
They had switched their production from The Little Mermaid to Beauty and the Beast.
Just from their Instagram video alone, it looked like a high-budget musical. Something that you would see on Broadway.
"Oh, my gosh, that's what's-her-name." Seb sputtered out, "Lily, from our auditions. She isn't just co-directing their show, she's starring in it."
"You mean perfect-pitch, looks-like-an-actual-Disney-princess, super-fangirl/mean-girl Lily?" Ashlyn asked.
"I'll go with yes."
"I remember her vaguely."
The name sounded familiar to Gideon, but nothing that she would remember.
Ms. Jenn walked into the bomb shelter, "Thank you all for coming so quickly on a Saturday. Or most of you all."
Kourtney, Red, and Hannah all had been working what seemed non-stop at the pizza place and couldn't get today off.
"Uh, I think they're at the pizza place." Ricky said.
"Yeah, Kourtney texted in the group." Seb smiled, "They said they couldn't get anyone to cover their shifts."
"Oh... I didn't see that text."
That's because she didn't get it. They have separate group chats. One with Ms. Jenn and one without.
"I meant the group chat with me and EJ."
"Well, back to the matter at hand." Ms. Jenn sighed, "I can tell from you solemn faces you've all seen... the video."
"It's incredible. Even I have no notes. I can't believe they stole our show." Carlos added.
