She wakes up when the sun rises, which she can feel on her skin. She can't see anything and for a moment, she thinks her clones have failed, but then said clones reported to her.

"The surgery was a success" they say and poof away. It's fine, because she can use her other senses to navigate for the week she expects it to take until she can see again. It has to take a week. She doesn't have enough time for anything else.

She regrets doing the surgery on the way back after she runs into the tenth tree in a row. It's a testament to how underdeveloped her other senses are and it's good that she can train them now but man, why do there have to be so many trees in a forest? Can't they see she's trying to be epic over here?

She makes it back to the training-grounds after a bit and runs through her usual katas. They might be complicated for a beginner but for her, it's just muscle memory at this point. It's repetitive and boring when she has no one to fight against, but chances are that she will have to do that quite a lot soon and that's enough for her.

The thrill of battle is a drug for Kaguya, one they always chase. she likes good fights as well, but it's not as fanatical as the rest of her clan. Actually, fuck them, they won't be her clan for much longer. Ten days left until she either flees or dies trying.

Said days go by fast. She's busy preparing, taking care of her room and making sure nobody gets suspicious. Her sight returns after a week like she hoped it would and it's a far greater relief than she would've liked.

She makes the poison for her father with just instructions from the book. It takes a few tries and the place she did it looks like shit afterwards, but she succeeds. It takes just the right amount of time to activate and it will mostly go for the chakra system, although cramps and extreme abdominal pain are also on the list of effects.

Her father is none the wiser about it and takes the water in her hand gratefully. She would like to see the poison in action and take notes because it's simply fascinating, but she will have the time to do so later on. The hardest part about leaving is that she will never see her lake again. It's grown onto her; with its calming and slow water that is always crystal clear and so different from the sea that surrounds them.

She's built a little boat with which she will sail to the west into the fire country. She doesn't know where she'll go after that, but she tends to think that Konoha would be a good place. Not the getting in part, no, but once she's there she would be near important and strong people whose influence reaches far into the future.

It's so tempting, to try and go there, if only to try the ramen Naruto always sung praise about in the show. She falls asleep with thoughts of little foxes and water.

The next morning is hectic. Everyone seems to need to make some last-minute preparations, like sharpening their weapons or purchasing new shuriken. She weaves through the masses with ease and goes to the stall where food is being sold.

It's empty and she has no problems buying a shit ton of fruits and vegetables. It's important to have things to eat on the boat, after all.

Himari makes her way over to the beach where her ship lies and pushes it into the water. There have been no complications what-so-ever with her just leaving the compound just yet and by now, nothing can give her serious trouble.

She makes a shadow clone that takes control over the course her boat is going and sits down, taking out a book. There's no engine that could make them go against the stream of the sea, but as soon as she's a bit away from land, the tide will do the rest. It'll take a while for her to reach the fire country and until then, there should be no interruptions.
