Himari finishes her practise earlier than anyone else, content to simply watch her friends perform and learn. An everyday occurrence, something normal, something that will last for a while. She feels so tired in those moments, tired but happy. Gone are the days where she didn't know if she would live to see the next day, at least temporarily.

Jiraiya is struggling with his text again, so she goes over to help him. It's very easy for her, but she is anything but ordinary after all. Pointing out a few flaws in his text while praising him for the things he did well is always the way she goes about those types of things. Always. The word used to sound like a dream.

"Excuse me, it seems you are finished already. Could you please help me with this last part? I can't seem to understand it."

Sakumo says, very polite and she agrees.

"You just have to summarize what you've written up until now in one or two sentences and sign it."

"I know that, but how am I supposed to find the right words for that? It's so much..."

"Just prioritize. That part is very important and those two as well, but you can skip the rest. Don't mention any details, just focus on the core message."

Sakumo nods and dips his brush into the ink once more before beginning to write. He's so polite it's weird, because she's seen him get very boisterous around other people. But then again, they don't really interact much outside the classroom, because she's always either away training or doing stuff with her friends.

They hog her most of the time and Tsunade has taken to glaring at everyone who dares get closer than three steps without reason. It's been very efficient at keeping others away from her and with most, she wouldn't mind, but Sakumo is one of her favourites and she desperately wants to befriend him.

The bell rings, indicating the end of class. Himari and Orichimaru have promised each other to meet up in the library today and she's absolutely thrilled. Those study sessions are always so interesting and debating with the future Sanin is always fun.

She will try to become Sakumo's friend starting tomorrow, she decides, packing her books away and saying goodbye to the two others. They tried to join a session with them once but have not expressed any desire to go along again since. Maybe that's because they happened to come across a very graphic book about different types of injuries and they couldn't stomach that.

After a very interesting afternoon filled with talking about the terrible amputation of a ninja who accidentally set his leg on fire after pouring oil over it, she leaves. There's one more thing she has to do before she has to return to the orphanage.

"Hi Kagami!", she shouts, waving at the Uchiha who has already begun his daily routine. They train together almost every day, ever since he caught her performing a jutsu she definitely shouldn't have been able to do yet. Oh well, at least she has a sparring partner now, one who has the sharingan nonetheless.

Himari hasn't used hers in a very long time, keeping it a secret from everyone, even her summoning. Who knows what would happen to here were she to slip up and accidentally reveal it.

"Himari! I've been here for half an hour already, where've you been?"

"At the library! Found some very interesting things in there again and we just had to talk about them!"

He lightly hits her shoulder, laughing.

"It's not about erectile disfunction again, is it?", the boy asks, clearly poking fun at her.

"I didn't know the human body could even do that!?! And it was one time, stop bringing it up!"

She punches him back, rolling her eyes at his wheezing.

"I have a lot of energy left, let me tell you that. I will kick your ass even harder today!"

She begins to stretch, a smile on her face. Oh how she loves all those little interactions that won't show up in any history-books and yet mean the world to her. She can feel herself healing, forgetting. Her past is just that. Over. There are no ties to trace back to her and all she has is the now and the future. What a wonderful feeling it is.

Orichimaru leaves the library about five minutes after Himari. Sometimes, it still feels like a dream, even though it's been over six months since that fateful interaction. He has friends now, someone other than his parents who cherish him and like his presence. And although Jiraiya is a bastard and a loser and honestly such a bad influence, he's still theirs.

So who cares that Tsunade is a bit bratty sometimes, who cares that she gets angry easily. It's still so much better than being alone and there has never been a day when Orichimaru has regretted taking Himari's hand when they met.

Himari is the core of their group, the glue keeping them together no matter how unlike they all are. She's the reason they are together, she's the reason he's not alone. He doesn't know how he could ever repay her because there's nothing more precious than what he got. And even though he is a bit miffed he has to share her attention with everyone else sometimes, it's a condition he's willing to accept.

She looks so sad sometimes, but when she's surrounded by them, occasionally, a genuine smile graces her lips. It's the most beautiful thing he has ever seen and he wouldn't trade it for the world, not for the warm napping places he loves or the books he hoards in his room.

He's just- happy, and although he wasn't necessarily sad before, there's a big difference. He doesn't ever want to imagine a world without her, a world where he didn't have the opportunity to meet all those precious people in his life, a world where he didn't meet Himari. It sounds like a nightmare.

Lol this was super rushed and I don't even know what this is, honestly, but it's alright so I'll just psot it. I really wanna reach the age when they aren't all five anymore so the real romance can finally commence. *Laughs in evil author*

Neways, what do you think of the character development? Do you like all of them being happy? If you do, enjoy it while it lasts, because angst is a thing I cannot fully live without. I just love to torture my OC's a bit, what can I say? But they'll get their happy ending one way or another, dw.

Any good Naruto fanfics you would recommend my lovelies? I have one for you. Read "Reincarnated: A Bunny to A Lion" by Hatake555. It's about a girl who isekais into Hinata and it's really long. (They also had a really good smutshot book but I can't find it anymore so that's sad. The only good Kisame-smut I've ever read frfr.)

If you like crack, "Sakura, How to Obtain a Reverse Harem in Naruto" by Darkpetal16 is a phenomenal choice. It's my favourite fanfiction and I've read it so often I've lost count. The story, the crack, the simping: Perfection.

Naruto is Kishimoto's toy, I'm just playing with it.
