I woke up from the sound of my phone ringing, I grabbed it smiling knowing who it would be.

"Bleu, good morning!" I answered still half-asleep.

"Good morning Tulip, I'll see you later," he said quickly then dropping the call.

It has been over a year now since we've met, we became friends instantly and although we were exact opposites of each other we got along most time.

I always knew I like him, what's even more confusing is the fact that he never really confessed or court me, but just the way he treats me makes it as though we are dating.

My parents wouldn't allow it even if he did confessed or tried to court me, he'll just be chased by knife if they knew.

I'm not really expecting or assuming things, no, I am, I'm hoping he likes me too or maybe he sees me as a little sister.

I tried not to think much about it, I glanced at the calendar "May 13, 2026" it said. Today's our friendship anniversary, if that's even a thing.

While walking down the stairs looking down, I shook my head trying to contain all the thoughts. I saw him at the entrance, he waved at me smiling. He's wearing his usual weekdays uniform, a white polo and blue slacks.

"Tulip! Gosh what took you so long?" he took my bag and pat my head smiling.

"I'm hungry," I whined looking at his eyes.

"Let's get you something from the cafe."

When we got there he told me to wait outside. The cafe is full of people, and I quickly lose him out of my sight.

I then felt a tap on my shoulder, so I turned and looked at him, "What did you get? That was fast!"

"Your favorite," he smiled reaching out the bag to me.

"Cheesecake!" I shouted, like a child jumping.

He walked me into the campus, while I ate my cheesecake. I don't really want to part ways with him. I just want to spend the whole day with this man. Almost as if he read my mind he spoke.

"I'll miss you too."

"I never said I'd miss you," I laughed lying to myself knowing I would.

"I have class on lunch, still eat your lunch. I'll check up on you if you had eaten your lunch," Bleu lectured seriously.

"Okiii!"

"I'll pick you up later, let's have dinner," his  deep comforting voice said shifting the mood from serious to warming.

I started walking and so did he, in different directions, still I had an urge to look back. I turned and saw him also looking at me, so I ran hugged him tightly.

"I love you," I whispered then running to the building.

"What did I just do?" I thought to myself in a panic. My mind was easily flooded with thoughts, "What if he didn't like me back?"

The day went by so fast,  now I'm dreading every minute of it. I couldn't get a hold of myself and remained distracted for the whole day.

So there I was, lost into a void of my thoughts, staring straight at the wall. The bell rang echoing the halls, then it came to me that it's 5PM already. Hesitant, I grabbed my phone from my bag with shaking hands and saw 2 missed calls and 5 unread messages from Bleu.

Bleu: It's already lunch, what are you having?

Bleu: Have you had lunch, Tulip?

Bleu: You aren't mad at me right?  Because I didn't have lunch with you?

Bleu:  And you're probably upset, I promise to make it up to you tonight.

Bleu: I miss you already,  please still have lunch without me. You always forget to take care of yourself, please be mindful of your health my tulip.

The last one, that "my tulip" it makes me wonder what he really feel about me.  Was that supposed to mean something or am I just being full of myself?

When I got to the fountain I saw him there standing on the fountain alone holding a bouquet of pink tulips, my favorite. Although it wasn't rare seeing him in a suit as it's his go to outfit besides his uniform, there he was standing there, waiting for me. He doesn't even have to try and yet he never fails to take my breath away.

"Do you want me to carry you? Looks like you can't move there, Tulip," He said with a smirk looking at me with affection.

Still frozen in time, Bleu put his hands underneath my knees before scooping me into his strong arms. Carrying me bridal style, swinging me slightly in the air with caution.

"Put me down already, Bleu!" I said giggling from embarrassment.

"Nope!"

"Just put me down, you might drop me, Mikhail! Ahhh!!!"

"I won't, I won't let you fall, you might fall from the sky but I'll always catch you."

Bleu gently put me down still staring into my eyes while both of my shoes slowly touching the ground. As if time has stopped, and no one is watching us.

"Happy Anniversary," Bleu said handing me the tulips.

"Happy Anniversary,  but is the suit necessary?" I laughed trying to forget all the thoughts from earlier.

"Let's go, my Tulip," Bleu smiled fixing my hair.

"Where are we even going?"

"You'll have to wait, Raine," He grinned as he take my hand holding it gently up towards his lips for a kiss.
