The last time I traveled anywhere was just around the other city, which was already a year ago. Not to mention this time on my own, I went on a business trip last week and the schedules got messed up; I was supposed to be back last Sunday.
I couldn't hide my excitement going home. I miss him so much! Although we were calling each other every night of my trip, it already felt forever since I left.
It had already been an hour since we left the airport and began driving our way back home. No, Bleu has no idea I'm coming home tonight. I've been told earlier this week that they might change the schedules again so I told him that I might not able to make it this week, fortunately the deal was sealed and as soon as the meeting ended I packed my bags ready to go home.
Looking around the city from my seat, it started fading away, the sun was still hanging low in the sky, painting the blue canvas with streaks of orange and yellow, almost golden.
I pressed my lips together and smiled, "I knew I wouldn't regret rushing off that meeting as soon as it ended," I thought to myself looking out to the window.
The sun then began to fade into the horizon and the stars emerged from their shadows, into the clear night sky. For the rest of the drive I couldn't help but smile holding a little box I made for Bleu.
Soon after awhile we made it, I asked our family driver to park the car away from the gate so Mikhail wouldn't notice my arrival.
"Uhmm the bags..." I asked while I made my way out of the car holding my handbag gently.
"I'll get them for you in a minute, madam."
"Thank you, ohh and you can go home right after."
"Thank you so much, I was meaning to ask you about it Miss Raine. It's my son's birthday, I promise him I'll be home early today."
"Is that so? Send my regards to your family," I smiled handing him a cake I got from a client.
As soon as I stepped inside, the smile I was trying to contain earlier turned into a huge smile. The house wasn't grand or lavish, with marble floors or high ceilings, just something we both agreed to, something we both can call our home with rustic accents all over the house.
My eyes wandered around the rooms looking for him, instead I was greeted by hug with Luca, it's my pet dog and while Mikhail has allergies they quickly got along.
"I miss you," I whispered as I pulled away from Luca's embrace turning to Bleu. "I'm here..." I trailed off as our eyes met.
Looking breathtaking as ever with a pair of pajamas and a gray sweater. He does looked stunning in his normal formal attires, but seeing him again in these casuals made him much more handsome. If that even is possible, I guess.
His blonde hair was pulled back, still a bit messy and rugged. His sapphire eyes appearing to glow subtly under the lights of the hallway we are in, sparkling at me like stars in a clear sky.
"Tskk... miss me?" Mikhail asked smirking.
"N-no! I mean yes! I do!" I blurted out, as my cheeks turned to the color of red.
Mikhail chuckled before saying, "Well, I thought you'd forget and choose your clients over me."
"What?! Of course I wouldn't! And how could I forget! Today's our anniversary!"
"Uhmmm yeah exactly ..." He said as he followed behind me, grabbing my luggage and bags.
"I'm going to head upstairs, I need a bath. Gosh today's been a ride!" I exclaimed rolling my eyes making my way to the stairs.
