Layla followed Luna Denice into the Alpha's office. Doctor Eliza carefully took a seat, allowing the Luna to began. Layla's parents, Melissa and Jerome, stood by the closed door, not able to seat down in the office again.
Last time they did, they were told their daughter was dead.
Denice nodded her head, gaining her courage as she looked at Layla, "Every single test we ran showed that you were never actually injured or dead in the first place. Doctor Eliza checked them all herself. When we couldn't come with a logical explanation, we checked the security cameras in the hallway."
Layla nodded her head, not clearly understanding what was happening. She glanced at Eliza, noticing the same confusion.
"There was a bright light, and then Gabby screaming your name. Gabby claims not to know what happened, stating she didn't see any light," the Luna continued. "Do you have any idea what happened?"
Layla shook her head, stumbling over her words, "N... No, I. I don't. I was dead. The only thing I remember was the reestablishment of my bond between my wolf and I, Marley and I, and the pack as I already stated."
Denice nodded her head, "Well, if neither you or Gabby don't know, we are forced to question Marley."
Layla stared blankly at the Luna.
Melissa gasped, "She's an eighteen year old whose pack has been attack! You act like she murdered someone." Jerome wrapped an arm around his mate.
Melissa was typically the one to voice their opinion, being a social butterfly while Jerome stood silently next to her as he supported his mate.
Doctor Eliza stood up too, "You never mentioned anything about questioning her. If anything, the Moon Goddess herself could have came. I highly doubt Marley could to anything in this situation."
Denice sighed, "Actually, Marley could have done something. Doctor Brian brought it up."
Layla shook her head, hating Doctor Brain even more. To her, Brain was someone who never went out of his way to help another and did everything for his personal gain.
She couldn't understand how he became a Doctor in the first place.
"Doctor Brain believes that Marley is a descendant of the Healing Moon Pack," Luna Denice stated. Everyone in the room was shocked, and before anyone could speak, she added, "And he claims that Marley had been sneaking around the hospital, messing with phone records and found dangerously close to Alpha Joey's parents. He believes that Marley is working with the rogues."
Layla roared, "No! She is not. Rogues literally attacked us! How can she be apart of the rogues?"
"Head Trainer Jasmine says that it could be a tactic to get inside our pack," the Luna answered.
Layla breathed heavily, looking at her feet as rage filled her. She knew Marley was innocent. Her mate saved her life, warned the pack about wolfsbane. She even saw the Beta wolf trying to kill her mate twice.
That was no acting.
"Luna Denice, with all due respect," Doctor Eliza spoke in the silence, "Jasmine has strongly disliked Marley even before she meet her and Brian is a very unique character."
Luna sighed, "I know it's hard to wrap your head around, but the faster we talk to Marley, the faster the situation can be handle."
"What does the other Heads think about this? The Alpha? The Beta family?" Melissa asked, eyes wide as she spoke. Marley was such a sweet thing. She had trouble believing the poor girl was a rogue sent to kill them, and if she was, she wouldn't be able to do it now. The bond between Marley and Layla was too strong and developed for this nonsense.
"I haven't heard their opinions, yet, but they agreed that Marley needs corporate with us in our decision making." Denice sighed, "You all can be present, but you can not interact with Marley in any way. We need her honest answers."
A knock echoed on the office door. "Luna," a voice called out, "The rogue was caught running towards the border. She is in the hands of Jasmine has she is taken to the court room. The Alpha requested your presence."
Layla snarled, slamming the door open. She took off before anyone in the room could move. The poor young patroller was shoved to the ground as the Head Doctor raced past. Denice was the first to react after Layla, and she ran after her old best friend.
"Layla, stop!" The command in her voice was strong, and the Head Doctor was forced to obey.
Layla struggled against the command. She yelped in pain, and Denice grabbed her.
"You need to calm down, Layla. I said you can come, but not like this," The Luna scorned, hoping her tone would snap the Doctor out of it.
Layla snarled, "Don't act like you care, Denice." She ripped her arm away from the Luna. Baring her teeth, "We are not friends anymore, and you think my mate is some sort of rogue here to destroy our pack."
Denice shook her head, "I never said that. Doctor Brian and Head Trainer Jasmine just found evidence of it. There could be an explanation for this, a misunderstanding. I do care, Layla. Does our friendship mean nothing to you?"
Layla brokenly laughed, "You are in no position to ask me that. You are the one who lead me on. You are the one who ruined our friendship, and you are continuing to ruin it as you keep me away from my mate. Release me from your command!"
Luna Denice shook her head, "If you go in there like you're going to war Layla, you will only make it worst for Marley. If you want to be any help to your mate, you need to calm down."
Layla but her lip, even in her wrath she knew Luna Denice was right. She kept taking deep breaths, getting control over her wolf. In a strain voice, she grumbled, "I'm calm."

Well, Marley is in trouble now. I hope you guys didn't see this coming because this kinda just came to me. I had another idea to what should happened, which still can and will happen later, but I feel like this works with the story better.
Luna Denice and Head Doctor Layla had it out. It was long over due if you ask me, and I know Denice is not one of the favorite characters, but the next couple chapters will decide who she really is.
So keep a look out.
QQ (#26): What do you guys think will happen?
