The woods were a dangerous place at night, especially for her. She wondered the woods, panting and bleeding. Her head was on a swirl, looking in as many directions as she possible could. She had tears lining in her eyes, blocking her vision.

She heard a stick snap behind her, and she screamed, running. She jumped over the roots, and ducked below the low branches as she sprinted away.

She looked behind her, seeing a large wolf chase after her. She looked forward, seeing a large tree coming in front of her. She pushed her feet harder and faster before launching herself into the tree, and she started to pull herself to safety.

She turned around, her back leaning on the trunk as she pushed as far as she could. "Please, she begged. "Leave me!" She cried, tears hitting the ground covered in leaves.

The wolf slowed down, pausing before shifting. His naked body stood in front of her.

"Get down, bitch." He snarled before grabbing the branch with his bare hands. He attempted to grab her ankles, but the girl jumped. She luckily grasped the branch above her, making herself hang inches from his reaching grasp.

"Leave me alone, please. I'm sorry!" The women yelled, pulling one leg over the branch, holding on for her life. "Please," she cried out, pushing herself on to the branch, but only to fly back into her hanging position.

"I'm not asking again, you mutt," he snarled, jumping up to the branch she was handing on. His wicked smile darkened in her eyes as she stared up, watching him as he stalked towards her. "You're lucky the Alpha wants you alive. If it were up to me, you would have been dead."

The women hanged in defeat. The man started to chuckled, grabbing her wrist and flinging her off the tree. She landed with a thump, and she laid there, unmoving.

He jumped down, squatting over her. He waved her hair between his fingers, lifting her destroyed body from the ground. He chuckled, "So weak and pathetic."

He started to drag her away as the women started to cry; her hands came up to shield her face and her fate. She took a deep breath, pausing.

The wind blew towards her, and along with the breeze was a scent; a scent of mate and some other wolves.

She thought quickly, her eyes dropping and her body falling limp. She screamed, a high pitched scream. It made the man carrying her grimaced, and with his anger, he chucked her into a tree. Her head hitting the bark, knocking her out completely.

"Fucking bitch," he growled out, lifting his head into the sky, trying to figure out why she screamed. She never did; always hiding and holding her pain inside. He smelt the pack of wolves heading towards him. Growling under his breath, he quickly shifted, grabbed the women by her ankle, and ran, dragging her body across the ground.

Blood dropped into the soil as he disappeared.

The pack was there, quickly. The patrollers gathered around, sniffing the ground for anything they could enlighten their Alpha with. The Doctor was there too, her wolf growling in pain as she sniffed her mate's blood.

"Doctor?" A patroller asked, "Is everything ok?"

She shook her head, her eyes glowing and her wolf fighting to the surface. She felt tears in her eyes, smelling her mate's fear and salty tears. She gripped the tree, her fingers breaking into the bark.

The Alpha and Luna arrived; there bodies showed strength and leadership. The Luna gasped when she saw the Doctor, and without another thought, she quickly went to help her.

"Layla," she whispered, her hand placed on her shoulder. "What's wrong?"

The Doctor shook her head again, only wanting her mate in her arms. "Mate."

The Luna turned to look at her chosen mate. The Alpha nodded his head, commanding the patroller to find the scent leading away and telling the warriors to come.

The Doctor growled, staring at the place the patrollers started to go. Releasing her fingers from the truck of the tree, she started to shift.

The agony of her bones snapping, her hair dissolving into fur, her eyes changing to match her rage, it pained her. Although, when the transformation was done, she stood on four paws and more determination she ever could have thought.

Howling into the darken sky, she pounced forward, leaving the Alpha and Luna to watch as she ran through the trees, following the scent of life.

"Should we stop her?" The Luna whispered, leaning her head against the Alpha's shoulder. "She's a doctor, not a warrior."

The Alpha shook his head. "Love, you would be surprise how any wolf would fight for their mate, and she's not alone. The patrollers and warriors are out there with her."

The Luna sighed, fear lacing the broken bond of their friendship.

The Doctor had already passed the patrollers, her paws pounding into the ground. She zoomed through the trees, panting as she sprinted. She could feel her mate's heart beat, and she could swear that her mate could feel her's too. It was like she was holding in the beating sound, hoping someone would save her from her cruel world.

The Doctor's eyes narrowed when they saw a wolf dragging her mate on the ground; it's fangs digging into her ankle. All she saw was red when she attacked, letting go a loud growl.
