"Doctor Eliza is dead," Alpha Joey spoke solemnly to his pack members. After all the chaos, everything started to die down. Eliza was the last name called by the Alpha, and the pack mourned for their lost members.
Luna Denice stood beside her mate, her eyes full of tears as she silently sobbed.
She wasn't the only one.
Many of the Crescent Moon Pack were crying — mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, friends.
The other pack who arrived yesterday, for it was early morning, lingered around. Some offer their shoulders to cry on, but many of them allow this pack to grieve.
Alpha Joey let out a low growl, "We already knew a war was brewing, but none would see such a betrayal from our members. If anyone sees Jasmine, beware of her ability. No one is to engage her unless they are a high ranking member, and to report her immediately."
Layla leaned against a tree, her face stained with tears. She was standing alone, both Gabby and Marley were still at the Pack Hospital. She's been awake for hours, and Alpha Joey order her to take care of herself.
Her parents were around her for a moment before they took the fall of conversation. The last thing Layla wanted to talk about the situation her mate is in.
"I'm assuming you are Head Doctor Layla."
Layla recognized the scent of a different pack on the woman, and when she turned around, her eyes widen.
Standing before her was Luna Hannah.
"Luna Hannah," Layla greeted, bowing her head before standing back up.
"Please, call me Hannah. After all, you will find out we are family." She smiled at the Doctor, nodding her head away to Alpha Joey's heart full speech. Luna Hannah started to walk away, and Layla followed.
Layla stayed silent as she walked, not daring to correct the Luna. Her family has no connections to Luna Hannah's, but she was curious to what the woman was saying.
"Will you take me to Alpha Marley, Luna Layla?"
Layla took a misstep, barley balancing herself. She snapped her head up, "Alpha?"
Luna Hannah smiled, "Yes, Marley is an Alpha."
Layla paused for a moment, "Of the Healing Moon Pack?" Hannah nodded her head. "Were you apart of that pack?"
"I was born and raised there, even babysat Marley and her brother and sister too."
Layla put her hand on her forehead as she started to process the information. "Can you... can you heal them?"
Hannah laughed, "Why do you think we are going over there?" She motioned for Layla to lead the way, not completely familiar with the pack's layout. The last time she was here, Marley was around ten years old.
"Wait," Layla stopped, turning around to face the Luna. "How do I know you're really on our side?"
Hannah sighed. She understand the question was one Layla should ask, but she obviously didn't have time to prove herself.
"Marley has two younger siblings. She lives in a small pack called the Healing Moon. Um, technology isn't as advice compare to pretty much everywhere else. She helps her younger sister in a garden. She was absolutely terrified when she came out to the pack."
Layla nodded her head, already knowing Marley's younger sister took care of a garden. "Ok," she mumbled, "I believe you." It also helped her wolf trusted Luna Hannah too. Together, they started walking.
They entered the Hospital, getting some confused stares.
"Excuse me, Head Doctor Layla and Luna Hannah." A younger nurse stood before them. She played with her hands as both of the women stared at her. Layla recognized her from the program she started, and gave the pup a warm smile.
"It's alright. Luna Hannah is with me, and I'm checking on my mate." The nurse-in-training nodded her head before stepping to the side and retuning to her duties.
Layla paused, not knowing who to go to first.
Luna Hannah smiled, "Your friend was in critical condition. I feel like it might be best to visit her first."
Gabby was sleeping peacefully when they entered. Luna Hannah walked forward, placing her hand on the nurse's arm before activating her powers. Unlike Marley, she did it with ease and had complete control over herself. Hannah had been using her powers for a long time, sneakily healing her pack members as if they were having miracles.
The nurse's eyes snapped opened, and Gabby gasped. She was frantic. Her last moments before she went under was when Jasmine was attacking Marley.
Oh Goddess Marley.
Was she alright? Gabby didn't have the answer, and she started to push herself up.
Suddenly, Layla came in her vision. "Layla," she cried, grabbing her friend by the arms. "Marley, where's Marley?"
"We can take you to Marley," Luna Hannah spoke, "but you need to calm down."
Gabby stared at her, completely lost.
"You should be able to walk, but I suggest to lean against Layla."
Layla helped Gabby from the bed, and Gabby's weight shifted towards Layla. "Goddess, you're heavy."
Gabby rolled her eyes, "I blame the magic."
Layla smiled, "It was pretty cool. They just touch your skin, and your eyes just opened."
"You're forgetting about the light."
Hannah stopped walking, turning around, "Light?"
Gabby nodded her head, "Yeah, when Marley healed Layla from the dead." She glanced down at her feet, "It was like the Moon Goddess was there."
Hannah mumbled something under her breath. She shook her head, "She brought you back to life."
Gabby waved her hands, even though she knew that day would give her nightmares, "She was only dead for like... a minute."
Luna Hannah rubbed her hands over her eyes, "She could had literally killed herself by doing that."
Layla gasped, "What?"
"There was a chance she would have been trading her life for yours. Simply, the affects are unknown, but there's a good chance she lost a couple years of her lifeline."

Every magic has its cost — nothing in life is for free — but poor Marley. She hasn't had the best hand in life.
Also, I thought Luna Hannah proving she was one their side didn't really slide well into the story, but I felt like it was a basic reminder and also mentioned Marley coming out to her pack mad family — so I decided to keep it.
