She bit into the male wolf before he even knew what was happening. He felt a sharp pain hit his side, a wolf's teeth digging into his flesh and ribs. He yelped, dropping the unconscious girl to the floor.

He tumbled to the ground, rolling to escape. The Doctor was crushed under his form, but she somehow got up again. She resisted the urge to check herself for wounds- even more her mate's- knowing she had to pay attention to the fight she started.

She bared her teeth, her body shielding him from woman. The male wolf roared, stomping his paw on the ground. He marched forward, muzzle high and teeth showing, daring the Doctor.

He marched closer and closer, making the Doctor back up, her growling each step- louder and louder. Till, he should in front of her, his jaw brushing past her face in warning.

Luckily for the Doctor, the warriors and patrollers arrived- scaring off the male wolf. He quickly ran, fleeing against a stronger force; just what the girl bleeding out did.

The Doctor whimpered, lowering herself towards her mate. She brushed her nose against her neck, feeling light, dying sparks. She cried at the moon; howling her anger and pain.

She shifted back bare, checking her mate's pulse as she cried; it was barley there, but it was there. The Doctor could- and will- save her.

She lifted her into the air, careful about her wounds and ankle. A patroller walked forward, offering to carry her, and the Doctor placed her on his back before climbing on with her.

The weight was nothing to the wolf, and it quickly sprinted off towards the hospital.

The Doctor pressed her hands against the wounds of her mate, slowing the blood flow going out of her body. "We need to go faster," she cried, staring down at her mate. She needed her mate to live or she would perish from the world with a broken heart- not that she really cared about herself right now. Her world was crumbling; her world was in the hands of her mate.

The wolf under her grunted, speeding up as he headed towards the hospital. She could only hope that they get to the hospital quick enough.

The large, white building came into view, and Layla cried with joy. Her mate was slowly dying from blood loss, but she was a werewolf. Her body was slowly healing itself, making the Doctor wonder why. Any wolf would have been fine, healing itself between five to thirty minutes- given on rank and mates.

Layla nearly dove off of the wolf with her Nate when they reached the doors. She carried the women's body close to her, marching inside and quickly gaining everyone's attention.

Three nurses pushed over a bed, allowing Layla to set her down, get her to a room, and hook her to an IV. "Everyone out of the way!" The Doctor roared, and the hallway parted.

Three nurses and a doctor quickly went to work. A nurse, Gabby, went for the ankle, quickly evaluating what they needed to do. "She's going to need stitches; that bite was deep."

Layla stared down at her mate, seeing scars across her arms. She quickly ripped her mate's shirt, seeing her torso full of bruises. "Check her head," she whispered to a nurse, who quickly started to move carefully through her mate's dirty hair.

"We need to get her into a operating room," Gabby whispered, "and you won't be the one operating on her, Layla."

"Why not?"

"Too personal," the nurse who checked her head answer, grabbing the Doctor's arm. "It's best. You can wait outside, Layla."

Seeing her mate's broken body being carried away to an operating room made her fall to her knees. Her mate's life laid in a hand of another doctor, and it killed her. She could check her mate out, not anyone else. She was the best if the best; there was no doubt that she could save the women, but they wouldn't let her.

Her chest started to rumble, and her growing started to increase in sound.

"That's enough."

Layla didn't even notice the Alpha. He stood by the door, his arm wrapped around his mate.

"Layla," the Luna whispered, walking towards her old friend slowly. "She's going to be alright."

The Doctor didn't answer; instead, she stared at the door, wondering what was happening. Was something going wrong? Everything on track? Had they started yet?

"Denice, if I lose her..." Layla's voice cracked as years strolled down her face.

The Luna nodded her head, sitting next to the broken Doctor. "She will be, and you're going to be with her every step of the way."

"I'm not with her now."

"Yes, you are." The Alpha walked forward. "You're just waiting for her. She'll be alright."
