The Hogwarts Library was one of, if not my favourite place in the whole castle. I loved the dark, rustic feel of it, the smell of old books, and faint cinnamon tea. The sounds of pages turning, and quills scratching, it almost made me drowsy. It just felt so comfortable, and homey, making study hall all more enjoyable.
Cedric, Steve, and I were working on a group project for Potions. I hated Snape with a burning passion, but he put me in a group with one of my best friends, and my boyfriend, so I had to give him that.
I was supposed to be working, but my owl, Coffee, came back with the letter from my mum, and I just had to read it. So, while the boys read on and on about potions in a worn old textbook, which happened to be the exact same one I found in the common room the night of the first day, I was happily answering my mum.
The letter read,
Dear y/n,
Hello, my love, I miss you so much as well. You won't believe how much Kayla has been talking about coming to Hogwarts to see you. When I told her you had a boyfriend, she went ballistic, so she'll be happy to hopefully meet him this summer.
I hope you've been trying to solve things with this Gabby girl, she sounds like a load of trouble. And, I'm sure the girls mean no harm. Please talk to them, and work things out. I know how much you value those two.
Believe me, honey, by the way you talk about Cedric, he only has eyes for you. Don't waste your time worrying about it. As much as your mind is going to focus on negative thoughts, I want you to know that Gabby is no competition. All she is, is a new girl looking for friends, or maybe some trouble to stir... but please, don't stress.
And, yes, the shop has been extremely busy over the winter. It has slowed down since spring began, but I'm sure everyone will be looking for summer clothes, so wish me luck!
Alright, I love you. See you at the end of school.Love, Mum
It had been almost two weeks since I had my argument with Olivia, and Jenn. Two weeks that I'd been staying in Cedric's dorm, unnoticed. Two weeks I didn't have my best friends. And, two weeks I'd been lonely as hell. As much as I loved Cedric, and Steve, they weren't my first friends, they weren't my roommates, and sometimes it was hard to talk to them about things. They wouldn't understand a lot of the things I had to say.
"You look..." Steve trailed off, trying to find the right word. "troubled." I scoffed, with a faint smile. I put the letter back in it's envelope, and sighed.
"I just miss the girls. And my mum. And my sister." I shook my head. "Sometimes, I just wish I could go home, and cry into my pillow. Ugh, it's been so long since I had a good cry."
Steve narrowed his eyes, confused. And, there was one example. Some things, the boys just wouldn't understand.
"Oh, well... is- is that a good thing?" Steve asked.
"Yes, Steve. Believe it or not, crying is actually healthy." I laughed.

It was three weeks into April, and I headed into my dorm to pick up some of my toiletries, and undergarments, and I grimaced when I saw Gabby sitting on her bed. Besides her, the room was empty. She was drawing something in a sketchbook, and she looked up at me with an unkind expression. I ignored her.
It was weird looking at my bed untouched. I missed my dorm. My eyes darted around at Olivia and Jenn's bed, and I sighed at the sad feeling in the room. Maybe it was just me, but the room did feel much unhappier, and unwelcome.
"Hello?" Gabby snapped. "Do you need something?"
"Sorry for standing in my own dorm room. Or did you forget I lived here as well?" Gabby stayed quiet. "See if this rings a bell. You showed up here out of nowhere, acting like everyone loves you and everyone wants to be friends with you. You've got my best friends hooked right under your nose, and you've kissed my boyfriend. Not only is that disrespectful, but he didn't consent to that, and it made him very uncomfortable. So, I hope you've learned your lesson not to do that, because lay so much a finger on him, I'll-"
