It was snowing the morning of January first, heavily, blurring the view of the freezing outdoors. I slowly turned to my right and there Cedric lay, peacefully sleeping. Besides him, I was the only one in the dorm. It looked as though Jenn spent the night with Draco and Olivia, with Oliver.
Trying to be as quiet as possible, I slowly got out of my wooden four-poster and pulled the covers back over Cedric, so he wouldn't get cold. I wrapped my soft robe around my body and peered out the window, sparkling frost outlining it.
I could barely see the top of the castle, because whole sky was white with snow. The trees in the distance were topped with heavy sheets of white, weighing down the branches, making them look weak.
I turned to my side table and picked up the locket my mother gave me. I opened it and smiled at the photo, reminiscing about the times before I went to Hogwarts, before my father passed away, and before she married the wretched man she called her husband.
Sighing, I walked to my bathroom and silently shut the door. I started the shower and changed out of my pajamas. Waiting for the water to warm up, I looked in the mirror. Purple and dark red hickeys were scattered from my neck to chest and my hips were bruised from his tight grip.
I couldn't help but smile at the previous night's activities. Snapping back to reality, I stepped into the shower, and began to wash my hair, and body, then condition it. After quickly shaving my legs, I stepped out onto the mat and wrapped myself in a towel.
I dried myself off to the best of my abilities, and walked out of the bathroom, the cold air piercing my skin. I noticed Cedric rubbing his eyes, then looking at me. He smiled and turned around as I changed into comfortable clothing.
It was the final day before the second semester began, and I wanted to make the most of it. Cedric stood up and walked over to me and smiled.
"You look nice." He said, embracing me, taking in the smell of my shampoo. "And smell nice." I pulled him down to my level and kissed him softly. I let go, and he took a couple of steps backwards. I stared at his body, which had similar markings to mine, and grinned. He noticed me looking, and pulled me back into his arms.
"Would you look at that, we're matching!" I joked. Cedric ran his hands through my hair, eyeing the marks he left.
"Last night was fun. No- amazing." He corrected himself. "What do you say, round two?"
"In your dreams, Ced." I chuckled. He walked over to the pile where his clothes lay, probably full of wrinkles, and picked up his shirt, and pulled it over his head.
"It was worth a shot." He smiled, and opened the door. "Ladies first." I exited my dorm and walked down to the Great Hall. When we reached the doors, I saw students filling up seats and beginning to eat the food which had just appeared on their plates.
I noticed Jenn, hand-in-hand with Draco. They both looked exhausted, and plopped down next to Olivia, who was with Oliver and the twins. What I loved about the break was that everyone could sit with each other, no matter what house they were in.
"Morning, lovebirds." The twins said together. Jenn looked up from her plate and weakly smiled, clearly still not fully awake, though it was around ten in the morning. Olivia took a sip of her drink, then spoke up.
"How was your night?" She asked, slyly, knowing exactly what had happened. I tried my best to cover the hickeys with makeup and wore my robes, covering my collarbone. I nervously turned to Cedric hoping he could help me out. His face looked flustered and he cracked his fingers, breaking the silence.
"So, they finally did it." Draco remarked, smirking. Jenn turned to her boyfriend and tried her best not to laugh.
"Oh, shut up, Malfoy." I replied, wiping my face with a napkin, trying to hide the pink on my cheeks.
