"Are you guys dressing up? What do you usually wear to parties here?" Gabby asked, hunting through her trunk. She pulled out two tops. One was a bright pink tank top that I knew would clash horribly with her hair colour, and the other was a black cropped t-shirt with a white-striped pattern.
"I personally think the pink top is adorable." I said, finding something to wear as well. Something just as alluring as the one from New Years.
"Finally, something nice comes out of your mouth." She muttered. I decided not to retaliate, and rather say something in my head.
I decided to go with a white laced corset top and and black leather shorts revealing my thighs. I wore high heeled boots, similar to what I wore at the New Years party, and tied my hair up into an elegant up-do.
I didn't mean to be cocky, but I knew I looked better than Gabby by a landslide, and hopefully Cedric would be more drawn to me than her. What am I thinking? He's my boyfriend, and I trust him not to look at other girls like that.
I threw my hands to my face, angrily, and grunted.
"You alright?" Olivia asked me. I sighed.
"Yeah, I'm just dandy, Olivia." I spat. I was obviously still miffed about her and Jenn siding with Gabby, and spending every possible moment with her. I simply couldn't understand how they could just forget about my existence completely in just a few days. But, still, I didn't mean to sound so rude.
Olivia exhaled, and walked over to Jenn, who was doing Gabby's hair. After a couple more long minutes of the other girls getting ready, we headed down and out through the common room, to go to the Gryffindors'.
When I arrived with Jenn, Olivia, and Gabby at the Fat Lady's painting, I could already hear the muffled back ground music of "Good Old-Fashioned Lover Boy" by Queen playing. I rolled my eyes at the twins' non-existent attempts to keep the party a secret.
After saying the password, we entered the common room which was exploding with noise. People were singing and dancing along to the booming music, and the torches were bewitched to produce a red flame, rather than the traditional orange-yellow.
I looked around the many heads searching for someone to talk to.
"Hey, here's the life of the party!" I heard Fred shouted from behind me. All of the attention turned to Gabby. She gave a delightful smile and pulled Fred into a hug.
"Thanks so much, guys. This party is amazing. I've never felt so welcome." She turned to me with a smug look on her face. I looked down, and walked to the drinks table. I poured myself a cup of cherry punch and sighed to myself.
"No one should look this glum at a party." I heard a kind voice from beside me.
"Harry! It's so good to see you." I smiled, putting my drink down to hug him.
"It's good to see you too. How... are you? You look upset." Harry explained. I opened my mouth to say something, but realized it was too loud to have real conversation. "Wanna go outside?" I nodded.
Harry led me to outside the common room. I sat down on the top stair and he seated beside me. I looked at him and smiled.
"Gabby, she's- I don't really like her. But, before you judge me, I have good reason." Harry nodded for me to continue. "Well, for one, a lot of this might just be my stupid issues. I've come to the realization I have jealousy issues, pent up anger issues, and it's all started showing when Gabby showed up. She's only been here like two days, and I'm already freaking out. She's spending all her time with Jenn and Olivia, and I'm not gonna just join in because I don't like Gabby. And, I don't like Gabby because she's spending all this time with Olivia and Jenn, but she's allowed because they're not only my friends! Sorry, I'm rambling."
