I walked into my potions class to see Professor Snape waiting there for me. Since I had talked to Olivia, I was about two minutes late.

"Ah, Ms. l/n, finally decided to join us." Professor Snape said, raising an eyebrow.

Class ended and I was starving. I ate lunch with Jenn and Olivia. Occasionally, I looked over at Cedric. He laughed with his friends, and the girls were gushing over him like usual. I stared at my food and even though I was hungry, I didn't want to eat.

"Y/n, is there something wrong?" Olivia asked.

"Look at all those girls over there. I wouldn't be surprised if he were dating one of them." I rolled my eyes, trying to hide my sadness. Cedric looked over at me and waved. Before I could even smile back, another girl had caught his attention. I huffed and walked to the washroom.

"Hello, y/n! How are you?" Moaning Myrtle said, in her usual squeaky voice.

"Terrible. I can't bear to see Cedric with all those beautiful girls." I replied, cringing at the thought of them.

"Well, I'm going to let you in on a little secret. Last time Cedric used the Prefects' Bathroom, he was saying something about you. I don't know what exactly, because I wasn't close enough to hear, but he's never mentioned any other girl, if I recall." Myrtle exclaimed, grinning.

"Really?" I asked, hopefully.

"Off you go, you're going to be late to class." Myrtle replied, slithering away. I sighed and walked out of the washroom.

I rushed off to your Defense Against the Dark Arts class, trying not to be late.

"Good afternoon, Ms. l/n." Professor Moody said, as I sat down at one of the desks. I awkwardly smiled and waited for instruction.

I walked into the library to study and saw Jenn talking to Draco, and smiling? After he'd walked away, I went up to her table.

"Oh my gosh, do you like Draco?!" I whisper-shouted. Jenn tried to form words for a couple of seconds.

"Um... no. Yes? No. Is it bad if I say yes?" She replied, taking out one of her textbooks.

"Not at all! In fact, I can see you two together." I answered, reassuringly. Jenn sighed.

"I'm glad. I really hope to go to the Yule Ball with him in December." Jenn exclaimed, dreamily. "Do you plan on going with Cedric?" I scoffed.

"Like he'd ever ask me to go. He's probably just nice to me out of pity." I replied, shaking my head.

"What, no. Did you not see him at breakfast this morning?" Jenn asked, like it was obvious.

"He was just being friendly." I shrugged.

"Are friends really that touchy?" Jenn asked.

"I-I guess not, but there's no way he likes me. I mean, he's Cedric Diggory. I'm just y/n l/n." I answered.

"You're crazy. Wait, Cedric's coming. Act normal." Jenn said, before covering her face with a book which was facing upside-down. I rolled my eyes and looked up at Cedric.

"Hey, y/n, Jenn." Cedric said, smiling.

"Hey. What are you- what are you doing here?" I stuttered.

"I have a study hall as well. Would you mind if I sat with you guys?" Cedric asked, politely.

"Actually, I have to go to the library for something." Jenn replied, standing up.

"We're in the library." Cedric said, giving Jenn a confused look.

"Um, the other library..." Jenn answered, awkwardly.

"There's only one-" Cedric began.

"Gotta go!" Jenn exclaimed, rushing off to who knows where. I sighed and rubbed the back of my neck, nervously.

"So, um, how are you?" Cedric asked, pulling out some parchment from his bags.

"I'm good. I mean I really wish I didn't have to do work right now, but it's Hogwarts, so can I really complain? I'm so glad we don't go to Muggle school. It sounds horrible." I laughed. Cedric smiled.

"I know right! I-" Cedric was interrupted.

"Come on, Ced! Let's go study somewhere else." One of Cedric's friends exclaimed. Cedric sighed and stood up.

"I've gotta go. I'll see you around." Cedric softly smiled at me before catching up with his friends.

I guess that's what I get for being friends with Cedric Diggory.

I gathered in the Great Hall once again for dinner and sat with Jenn and Olivia, like usual. This time, Cedric didn't even care to look at me. Not even once.

"What's the matter?" Olivia asked.

"Nothing, just- Cedric hasn't looked at me this whole time. He was being so nice today, I don't know what happened." I replied.

"I'm sure it's nothing. He just seems caught up with his friends right now. He'll probably talk to you tonight." Jenn exclaimed.

"Yeah." I sighed, and continued to flick the food around my plate. At the end of dinner, I rushed up to my dorm and laid down in my bed to think.

It was stupid of me to ever think he'd like me. He's Cedric, I'm me. It doesn't work. We're nothing alike. Ugh.

"Hey," Jenn said, sitting on your bed. "What are you thinking about?"

"Just how Cedric probably hates me and he'd never like a girl like me." I answered, throwing my head back onto my pillow.

"Come on, we'll get him to go with you to Hogsmeade this weekend and you can talk then." Jenn replied, happily. "He's Cedric. Of course he's going to say yes." I sighed.

"Okay." I smiled. "Well, before we go to bed, I want you and Olivia to tell me about Oliver and Draco."

"Oh! I'll go first. I've kind of liked Draco for the longest time. I mean, I know I'm a Hufflepuff and he's a Slytherin, but it works, okay? I bring out the soft side in him and we've actually become pretty good friends. And I think he might like me too." Jenn exclaimed, clapping her hands. I smiled.

"Well, I don't really talk to Oliver, but he's so cute. And Quidditch Captain of the Gryffindor team, so..." Olivia giggled. "Now it's your turn. Tell us about Cedric." I smiled, and sat up on your bed.

"Well, I've kind of had a crush on him since third year. He's always been really popular and I've always been, well- not. And recently he began talking to me, and I don't know why. But now, I like him even more. I can't help my feelings, but I know he doesn't like me back." I explained.

"Give it time. He'll totally fall for you. Trust me." Jenn exclaimed, excitedly. I grinned.

"I really hope so." I said. "You guys wanna play cards?"

"Yeah, sure. Do you know 99?" Olivia asked, pulling a deck from her bag.

"Yep." Jenn replied.

"Of course." I smiled. Time flew by and it was time to go to bed. I washed my face and put on some silk pajamas and finally went to sleep.
