For a second, I felt bad, but it melted away soon. The Warriors of Notch fell one by one, until they were all lying in a heap on the stony ground. By the time I was done, the weapon was empty of ML- Exma.
"Ender," said Maria. My friends were standing in a circle, their weapons still out.
"They were going to like, kill you," I stuttered.
"Well that's why we have you, isn't it?" Bradly said. "No shouldn't we be going along? Herobrine is out there."
We ended up in a field full of sheep.
It was like a small oasis in the middle of the Mountains of Moran. Around us, the stone walls still loomed, but the clear blue sky shone above our block heads.
The sheep grazed the grassy valley, as if nothing had every concerned them.
It was the first time I ever wanted to be a sheep.
"This place is nice," said Art in awe.
Braden, however, seemed uncomfortable. "How is land even generated like this? One second it's dark and scary mountain land and the next it's all sheep and happiness."
Art turned to him. "Sorry, but: 'mountain land?' 'Sheep and happiness?'"
Gripping his hand on his bow, Braden said he didn't know what she was talking about.
"Well it'll be night soon," I said. "Maybe we should settle down. We can build a shelter out of dirt or something. We also need to have time to discuss strategy."
"I say we keep going," Bradley said to my surprise.
"What do you mean?" Rax asked, stiffening ever so slightly. I prayed there wouldn't be another fight. Not after how far we've come.
"I mean we follow the gamma tracker through the night. If we see a monster we fight it off or quickly build a wall around us."
"Excuse me, how does one 'quickly build a wall?'" Rax challenged. I sent him a look.
"I say we keep going. Herobrine's not going to be sleeping."
"That's because he's lord of the night. You can do that sort of thing," Rax said, his teeth gritted.
"Hey, guys," I said, walking in between the two guys who had slowly been getting closer. "How about we just sleep for the night? Even if we could keep tracking Herobrine, a couple of us just came back from a fight," I scolded, thinking of the running and rescuing Art and I'd just had to go through. "We need to rest."
Bradley looked at the ground. He wasn't the guy who normally had to be told what to do, but when he was, he took it well. "Of course, Ender. Whatever's best. You did just fight two battles."
And I'm still fighting one, I thought.
...
Gregor was ready.
He was pumped.
All for nothing.
He wanted to fight but he couldn't. He, Jane, Ridge, Ben, Lora, and Grace, everyone from his past life, were sitting there to waste in a cave. There was nothing they could do, Ridge said. Herorbrine had possesed everyone in the Resistance.
"Well so much for hope," he said, gazing into the simmering lava from the cave.
Glaring at him, Jane said, "Don't talk like that! We can still stop Herobrine. Don't forget that Ender and everyone else are after him."
