No one would talk to me for the rest of the day. We simply worked on Habuin's farm and didn't speak. At least, until I put my foot down.
"Okay, guys, we're not just going to sit here and do nothing!" I exclaimed, dropping my hoe into a small one block canal. "Let's figure out a plan!"
Bradley looked at me with a sulky expression. "What do you suggest we do?"
"We get on the move! Art and Maria are still missing! And even if we can't track Herobrine anymore, there's still stuff we can do! We have an entire fighting force at our hands. Let's go back to the Resistance!"
None of my friends looked terribly excited about that. It was as if something about me being possessed had drained them.
Only Rax seemed to really understand. "Come on, guys, we have to stop Herobrine. None of us joined the Resistance to let him continue torturing people all over Minecraft. Let's make our way out of here."
Bradley and Braden nodded as if they only partially understood, as if when Herobrine took something out of me, it took something out of them too.
The Resistance HQ wasn't far away. By sundown we were in the tunnels about to enter the door that lead to the complex some of my friends called home. I felt like I hadn't been there in years as I entered the code in to open the door and walked inside.
For a long time I regretted that descision. I should have known going into the HQ was a bad idea. I'd had a dream about it. I'd even felt a nagging voice in the back of my head telling me not to, but I did anyway.
"Hello?" I called out. My voice echoed through the small tunnels, and at first it sounded like no one was there to recieve it, but that certainly wasn't the case.
A roar greeted me. The sound of hundreds of footsteps entered the hallways and my friends and I faced a crowd of armored warriors rushing towards us.
I was right. The Resistance was possessed.
"What is happening?" Braden exclaimed, looking at me. It was as if he knew I had the answer.
I shook my head. It felt like it was being overflowed with an ocean of thoughts. "Dream, kill... us... Ben," I murmered.
Pain crept into me and began to burst me open. My block skull felt like it was going to split. I distantly felt Bradley grabbing my arm and pulling me out the door.
"Ender, are you okay?" He asked. I wanted to make a sarcastic comment (does it look like I'm alright?) but the pain was too overbearing for me to even open my mouth.
"We have to get him out of here," said Rax.
I moaned. It was the only way for me to get my feelings out. Words were a lost race at this point. My soul was on fire. My arms weighed a million pounds.
One of the only things I could feel besides ten thousands ghasts blowing me up was a thought. Most thoughts belong to you, but that's only when you have your own mind to yourself. Mine, unfortunately, had been invaded.
And the other person in there sent me a thought. It was in a voice. A raspy one that I recognized. It wasn't hard to tell who it was.
I am here.
It was Herobrine, ready to take control of me for the night.
...
Braden Alessi was scared out of his own mind. He got one to himself, but he found himself wishing there was someone else to help him out.
