"What are you doing here?" Ben asked harshly.
What the people in the town said about him reflected to be true in the flesh. He was cold after the death of his best friend, Jane.
"We were mining," Motir said, sounding scared.
Ridge pulled my friend and me up.
"And you just happened to stumble across us?" Ben asked.
"Yes, actually," I said.
Ben narrowed his eyes. "Ridge, we'll take them to Headquarters," he said. Then he looked at us. "Hope you got nowhere to be, boys. You're taking a ride."
Ben and Ridge put us in minecarts. Minecarts!
Apparantly, the room was a mining spot. Area 3:12, to be specific. Ben and Ridge were checking it out for their mining team. That was the one they wanted us to join.
"You can't just force us to join you!" I yelled as we sped along the tracks.
"Herobrine would force u, wouldn't he?" Ben asked.
"So you're going to stoop to his level?" I replied fiercely.
"I would let you go, but I've already told you too much."
"That's an excuse."
Ben turned around in the minecart he was in, right in front of me. Giving me a glare, he said, "What's your name anyways?"
"Ender."
The HQ of the resistance was a system of underground tunnels. Ridge explained that to us as soon as we arrived.
Motir and I were lead through some tunnels, occasionally passing someone, until we arrived at a room labeled, "mining expanse."
Getting shoved inside, I had an almost completely different view of the Resistance. They were supposed to be protecting us, not kidnapping us.
Inside the room, I felt calmer. There was blue carpet and pictures on the walls.
Ben sent Ridge off to do some work or more kidnapping, something of the matter.
"So," Ben began, twisting a sword I hadn't noticed before, "how do you like it here?"
"With you, not very much," I said.
Ben didn't look amused. "I'm trying to be nice. You ever heard of it? Now help me fill out your files."
"I don't want to work for you," Motir said suddenly. "I have sisters to take care of."
"Then walk out of here," Ben said nonchalantly. "I don't trust you'll be able to find your way to the surface. Believe me, it's hard to get out of here. But leave. If you want, you can. I'm letting you go. It's my hope that you won't remember how to get down here. I don't want any government officials down here because of you."
Motir looked at the ground.
"I also doubt that people will believe you. A story that the Resistance captured you isn't very believable is it? We are the hope to the people."
My best friend, my only friend, started shuffling towards the door.
"Motir! Where are you going?" I asked.
"Home, Ender," he said. "There's not much of it here."
"You'll die!"
"I'd rather."
And he was gone.
"Now shall we continue to work on those files?" Ben asked, his face blank of any emotion.
