Bradley, Rax, Braden, Maria, Art, and I set out into the Mountains of Moran, just like when we originally came to the surface. The mountains were just as desolate as when we first came into the range.
"So, Ender, we're just supposed to go and find Herobrine?" Braden asked as we walked. Talk spruce trees towered over us, making me feel smaller than the warrior I know I am.
What he asked wasn't unreasonable. You could't just go and "find" the leader of all of Minecraft. "We have to track him down," I said.
Maria, who I happen to know as a skilled tracker said, "What do you mean 'track him down?' With what?"
"Herobrine and his men still use gamma for their armor and as you all know, it sends out those gamma rays, which I have a tracker for." I pulled out the simple black cube from my inventory. "This will lead us straight to him, no matter how long it takes."
Maria and Braden, both new to the Resistance, looked fascinated. "So it just leads you to him?" Braden asked.
I nodded. Ben'd taught me thouroughly about the device before we left. "Provided there are no wave interruptions, like deep underground or too much gamma, we should be fine."
Rax, Bradley, and Art all acted like they'd all seen one before. "We hardly ever use those back at the Resistance," Art said. "We're too close to towns and since Herobrine has guards posted all over the place with gamma, so they're not really useful."
"Well I think-" Maria began but cut herself off. "What was that noise?"
All was silent. "I didn't hear anything," I said.
No one spoke for a second until a loud roar bellowed through the air.
In a second we all had our weapons drawn. My bow was loaded and ready to fire. At what I wasn't sure.
In an instant, five warriors burst out of the spruce trees, literally jumping from them and surrounding us.
They wore golden armor like the guard I saw in the fortress. They had strange glowing swords and bows, all aimed at us.
They were the Warriors of Notch, and they had caught up with us.
...
"What's happening?" Jane cried. "I thought they liked us!"
"They do," Ben told her, looking sure.
Gregor wasn't possitive about the other two, but he wasn't comfortable with having an army running towards them shouting, "Kill them!"
"So what do we do?" He asked, drawing his iron sword.
Ben glanced around, as if scared. "I'm not sure."
"Ben!" Someone called from behind them. Gregor recognized the voice. Turning around, he saw Ridge, their old friend running towards them from the other side of the tunnel.
"Ridge!"
"Gregor? Jane?" Ridge wondered aloud. Shaking his head, he said, "Nevermind, we need to get out of here!"
"I guessed," Ben muttered as they began to follow their friend.
Gregor could hear the sound of thundering of the footsteps behind them as they raced down the hall. He could tell Ben knew the way well, which was strange. He couldn't imagine a Ben that wasn't a member of the HH and was rather part of this Resistance.
Ridge eventually lead them to a small cave in the wall. Lava glowed in a nearby ravine and monsters moaned in the dark. Everything seemed familiar, even the people trying to kill them.
Inside the cave were friends.
Lora and Grace sat in wait for them, fully clad in armor and weilding the bows Gregor couldn't imagine them without.
The second he and Jane set foot in the cave their eyes lit up. "Gregor! Jane! How-" Lora stumbled through the words, but Gregor could tell she couldn't make it.
"How are you back?" Grace finished for her. "And why is Jane our age?"
Gregor glanced to the 13 year old Jane, who was no longer much older than the other two girls. She seemed upset, but didn't say anything about it.
"I don't think we have time to catch up," Ben said to his sister. "We need to know what's going on. Why does the Resistance want to kill us?"
"I thought that'd be obvious," Ridge said. "It's Herobrine. He came and put them all under a spell. They want to kill us all."
...
I knew the Warriors of Notch used ML-Exma, but I never knew how.
Well now I know.
Each of the warriors weilded strange looking bows that shot arrows tipped with the blue substance. The second it hit something, a large black crater would appear around it. It was acid.
Nearly yelping, I loaded my bow and shot it at the Warrior I was fighting. He barely dodged it, which let me know I could get him.
We sparred from afar for a few minutes. His shots were always a bit off compared to mine, which gave me ground on him.
It took me a small while of sweating and grunting as I fought, but I managed to hit him in the arm. The Warrior groaned, so I quickly ran to grab his strange bow.
Aiming it, it felt strange in my hands. It wasn't like a regular bow. It was horizontal, and harder to point. But that didn't matter, because when I shot it, nothing came out.
It's out of ML-Emxa, I realized. Thinking fast, I grabbed the small vile I had in my inverntory and inserted it into the weapon.
Now I was ready to go.
I was ready to save my friends.
