I avoided Jessica and made sure to give her a three meter distance at least, for the rest of the gym class. Coach Parker thankfully didn't tell the girls to pass to me again, so I mainly kept to the edges of the court. Jessica's friends threw daggers at me throughout the block, but I tried to ignore them. I had bigger problems to deal with after school.

When Coach Parker told us to go get changed at the end of the games, I quickly rushed to the girl's change room. I immediately got changed as fast as I could and then waited by the door for the bell to ring with the other girls. Jessica was busy texting someone, (I knew exactly who) while all her friends continued to stare daggers at me. I just stood there with my heart hammering out of my chest, praying that I made it to my car before they got to me. With shaky and sweaty hands I took my phone out and checked the time. Three minutes left.

Two.

One.

Brrrriiiing

Right when the bell rang, I ran straight to my locker. Once I got there, I tried unlocking it with shaking hands. I was shaking too badly and the code just wasn't going in. I debated whether or not to just go home, but then realized I was at the wrong locker. I let out a quiet hysterical laugh as I moved one locker to the right. I opened it and packed up my bag with all of my school books and binder.

After I was done, I closed my locker and turned around.

"Where do you think you're going?" Elijah asked me, with his arm around Jessica's waist and his two lackeys behind him. I tried to walk past him with my head down, but he slammed his hand on a locker, blocking me from passing with his arm. "My girl here says you hurt her and then embarrassed her in front of the whole class. Is that true?" Elijah continued, taking a small step a bit closer to me.

I looked over at Jessica to see that she was glaring at me with resentful eyes. I was so scared about what was to come that I stumbled over the next few words that left my mouth. "It was an accident. I-I tripped."

"You just tripped?" Jessica raised one of her too perfect eyebrows looking furious. She then stepped in front of Elijah, while raising her hand. She had dropped the eyebrow and now had a wild look in her eye. Her face was contorted with complete and utter rage.

"Not here baby." Elijah said, quickly grabbing Jessica's raised hand.

She looked up at him like she had been given money for her birthday, only to have her parents take it away. She even had her bottom lip jutted out a bit.

Elijah ignored Jessica's pout. "Why don't we go for a walk, Raven?"

He let go of Jessica's hand, grabbed my arm and dragged me down the hall towards the exit. Jessica and Elijah's goons followed closely behind.

"Have a good rest of your day." Ms. Bell waved as we passed by her in the hallway.

I gave her a pleading look, hoping she knew what was about to happen to me, but she was just too clueless. I suppose not everyone was perfect. I then realized I probably should have just said something to her, but I knew that I might have a worse punishment.

We had now burst through the school's doors and now were heading towards the woods. It had snowed quite a bit while we were in class and now there was more snow on the ground, making me shiver from the cold.

"I'm sorry. Just let me go, please." I pleaded as they continued to drag me over snow, roots and dirt, and deeper into the forest.

They completely ignored me. Why did I think they would listen to me?

Once getting to an area where we couldn't see or even hear the school anymore, Elijah threw me down onto the cold wet ground. I used my hands to catch myself but then quickly recoiled from the freezing white substance. Why couldn't snow be warm or something!?!

After throwing me down, Elijah turned to his two friends. "Who wants to start this time?"

His very tall friend raised his hand. He had dirty blond hair that was cropped short and light blue eyes. It wasn't that shocking he would be the one to volunteer. He usually always enjoyed beating me up.

Elijah smiled and stepped out of the way, walking towards Jessica. He placed his arm around Jessica's waist again and they both got ready for the show. His friend stalked closer to me with a small smile playing on his lips.

Tears were threatening to be noticed just as much as the sound of my heart hammering out of my chest. I wouldn't be surprised if they could hear it from where they stood. I closed my eyes getting prepared for the first blow when someone spoke up.

"Stop."

I opened my eyes and looked towards the voice and saw a strange, but familiar face, about half a dozen meters away, staring at my attackers like he wanted to commit murder.
