Just like what happened with the morning classes, we got another free block to do basically whatever we wanted.
Jessica didn't show up for class. I assume she was somewhere getting ready for the assembly that's happening after school. I wouldn't blame her if she didn't show up for class for the rest of the month.
The whole class was extremely boring and I had wished I had brought my sketchbook, but it was in my locker. I should have brought it. I could be drawing in it rather than watching a bunch of weeping students.
I was so grateful when one o'clock came around. I raised my hand and asked to go to the washroom, after summoning some fake tears. One look at me, Mrs. Wood basically shooed me from her class. She never really liked crying.
I got up from my seat and then made my way out of the class with my hands wiping all the tears away. I walked straight to the girls bathroom, and saw Axel already standing outside the door.
"Are you ok?" He asked slightly concerned.
I probably still had a bit of evidence on my face from all the tears. "Yeah I'm fine."
"Ok... mind going in to see if there's anyone in there?" He pointed over his shoulder at the door.
After taking a quick minute to look around every inch of the girls bathroom, I came back out and gestured for him to come inside.
"So why'd you want to meet up?" I asked, sitting up on the sink counter.
"If you haven't noticed, there are quite a lot of people crying and it's getting a little ridiculous. He was nothing more than a stuck up rich kid, who bullied people for no reason." Axel spat the last few words with malice.
He then had to close his eyes and take a few deep breaths to calm himself.
When he was finally done and opened his eyes again, I got the courage to talk. "Um, you alright?"
"Yeah, sorry. People just piss me off sometimes." He looked over at me and gave me a smile.
"Yeah, me too." I said, giving him a small smile in return.
"So how long do you wanna stay here for?" He asked me, still smiling.
"I mean... I don't think anyone would notice if we just stayed here the whole class." I said with a shrug.
"I guess so." He walked over to where I sat and sat on the counter next to me. "I suppose I should also be a little more honest with you." He looked away and then back at me before continuing. "You asked why I wanted to meet up...well... um..." He looked away from me again.
This was the first time I've ever heard him stumble over his words, and not come up with some lie.
He took one last deep breath before looking back at me and kissing me.
I was so taken by surprise that I basically jumped back, causing me to break away from him. He didn't seem phased though. Instead he brought his left hand up to my face and guided it towards him to kiss me again. This time though, I closed my eyes and kissed him back.
When we finally broke apart, I could tell my face must have looked like a huge red tomato, and sure enough when he opened his eyes he let out a chuckle. Which made me go even redder.
I cleared my throat. "We should probably go back to class."
"Yeah, ok." He said before kissing me once more. "I'll see you after school."
I slid off the sink counter slightly unbalanced. I could hear him laughing as I walked out of the bathroom.
Once back in the classroom, I sat at my seat and replayed the kiss over and over in my head. Axel kissed me. I basically squealed inside my head.
I must have looked quite insane sitting there. I had left the room crying like a baby, and now I can't even wipe the huge smile off my face.
I couldn't wait until I could see him again after school, I thought to myself as I ignored all of the confused stares around me.
Absolutely nothing could ruin this day. Or at least that's what I thought.
The small smile that the kiss had made slowly faltered and then turned into a frown as I witnessed the principal walk in, followed closely by two police officers.
"Raven Russell. Can you come with us please? Bring your bag with you."
