I woke up, my head feeling like it was filled with cotton balls. Whispers filled the room. I opened my eyes and looked towards the source of all the whispering. A familiar person stands at the window, his back turned to me.
He then sharply turned around and immediately stopped his quiet talking once he saw that I was awake. His dark eyes locked onto mine.
I sit up slowly, looking around at my surroundings. I'm in my room, on my bed. It was night out, the only light coming from the moon that was shining through the semi-open window, making the whole room glow.
"Oh good, you're awake." Axel said, worriedness slowly melting away from his voice. "I was beginning to think you weren't gonna wake up." Axel then walked over to the side of my bed and sat down next to me.
"How did you find me?" I asked, and then suddenly looked around, remembering how I had blacked out. "There was a...a" I didn't know what I was gonna say, a monster? He would have thought I was crazy. Maybe I am, I thought.
"A what?" His eyebrows came together at the center.
"Nothing." I said quickly.
He looked at me with a weird expression that I couldn't put my finger on, and then he finally answered my question. "I was in class when I looked out the window and saw you run into the woods. It did end up taking me a while to find you though. You gave me a small heart attack when all I found was your bag." He gestured to my bag that was on the ground next to my table. "I thought something bad happened to you. Why did you even go out there?"
Reality hit me then. The pain in my chest that the police had planted there, suddenly grew. "They found my parents." I said barely over a whisper.
He then completely changed his whole expression, he almost looked mad. Which was most definitely throwing me off. When he saw me staring at him in confusion, he looked away.
"I'm sorry." He looked back at me as though he had just been through a painful beating.
It pained me to see him this upset, but then there was also a very small part of me that was getting pissed off. Why was he acting like this? I should be the one in pain not him. It was my parents who died, for crying out loud.
His eyes then became very watery, and a few tears dropped from his eyes as he stared at me. He then brought his hands up to my face and brought my mouth to his. After kissing my lips, he moved to my cheek, my forehead, my nose. He apologized over and over between kisses.
I was really confused the whole time, but I wasn't complaining.
I was then in the process of taking his jacket off when he pulled away from me. "Wait."
"What?" I asked, my pulse speeding up. Had I done something wrong?
He was looking away from me, and looked as though he were having an argument with himself. I kept looking at him with one of my eyebrows raised.
When he finally came to a decision, he looked back at me. "There's some stuff that you should probably know."
