"There's some stuff that you should probably know."

"What do you mean?" I asked.

He looked away from me, and towards the window. "Maybe right now isn't the right time."

"What do you mean 'not the right time'?" He continued to look away from me, so I reached up and moved his chin, so now he was looking at me. "Just tell me."

"I don't want to scare you. You're not ready yet." He brushed a strand of hair out of my face and placed it behind my ear.

He was lowkey starting to piss me off. How can he seriously say he was gonna stop lying to me, and then continue to lie to me. Well he's not exactly lying, but I'm definitely not getting the truth.

"How do you know if I'm ready or not?" I said, giving him a scowl.

"You're so stubborn." He observed, chuckling a little to himself.

"If you're not gonna tell me then leave."

He suddenly stopped laughing and looked away, the pained expression that he had, came back. "Promise me you wont get scared or run away." He looked back at me, into my eyes. "Ok?"

What could he say to make me run away? Or even scared? I was so confused and slightly terrified, but I made sure my face remained blank so he wouldn't see.

After giving him one stiff nod, he took a deep breath before talking again. "I killed Elijah." He stopped after that and watched me carefully for my reaction.

I could tell my mouth flopped open, but was I really surprised? It all kind of made sense. They way he was acting around Elijah's name. But how had he done it? Had he gone to go confront Elijah and it ended up with Elijah accidentally falling down the stairs? Or had he just gotten so pissed off that he pushed him on purpose?

When I finally got all my questions in order I closed my mouth and then opened it again. "What happened?"

He looked a little bit relieved at my reaction, but not that much. After thinking about it, he finally answered my question. "It was an accident. He saw me while he was driving home and offered me a drink at his house as some sort of truce. Well long story short, he tried shoving me down the stairs." He took a breath. "But I moved out of the way just in time, and he was the one that fell down the stairs."

The story seemed like it could have been true, but he's lied to me before. Then again, Elijah did seem the type to do something like that.

"What happened after that?" I asked.

"I panicked and left. I didn't want to be there when his parents arrived."

To be honest, I have no idea how to feel.

Axel is sitting on my bed, literally in my room, and technically a murderer. I know it was an accident, but still, I don't think I'll ever be able to forget about any of this.

"Oh... is that all you had to tell me or is there more?"

He reached up and rubbed the back of his neck, looking away from me. "No there's more." He took another deep breath before continuing. "It's about your parents."
