Tony's POV:
Wow. I'm so awesome, Romanoff doesn't know what she's missing. Shit. What did she want again? Coffee with 2 sugars? Eh, that'll do. I smile posing and waving for photos, videos, autographs, literally anything that gets thrown at me because what can I say? I'm great.
I walk into the coffee shop and lower my sunglasses smiling at the cashier.
"Hi, can I please get 2 coffees? Both with milk and sugar for me and my friend, thanks darl."
She nods excitedly and smiles.
"Is another one of the avengers in the car with you? I bet that's so cool."
I go to answer but then remember that triple imposter has been having a tough time recently and I shake my head.
"Classified unfortunately, but what I can tell you is that I'm the coolest anyways."
I give her a cheeky wink and smile to myself when I see her blush and start working on the drinks. I feel a buzz in my pocket and I grab my phone to see it's the redhead herself so I answer.
"Yellow?"
"Blue."
"GREEN! Well done you, you remembered."
"You're so easily amused. Seriously though Tony, enough of the games now, you need to hurry up and get back to the car, we have a new situation."
"Ah ah ah, not till I get my coffee, it took me ages to come here and get it. Once I have it I'll take us to wherever we need to go."
"Tony I'm being serious, I think it's Hydr-"
I quickly interrupt but lower my voice in case any unwanted ears are listening in.
"Nah, it can't be, Strucker died, that was the last of Hydra. End of story."
"Well, obviously it's not the end of the story Tony, so get your ass in the car before I get out and drag you to it."
She hangs up the phone and I just shrug putting my phone back in my pocket taking a deep breath. Someone has got an attitude, I wonder if she is hangry.
"Well then, that was rude."
Hopefully, it isn't what she thinks, I don't want to have to deal with those people again, they're absolutely crazy. Red is probably overreacting. I smile at the cashier when she hands over the coffees and I get back to the car and pass Natasha her coffee.
"There we go, your highness."
She shoots me a glare. I smile cheekily, but it results in a deeper, more aggressive glare from her and I roll my eyes.
"Will you relax? You're acting a bit crazy."
Oops. Maybe I shouldn't have said that.
Natasha's POV:
Did this bitch really just call me crazy? Is he kidding?
"Tony, are you fucking kidding me? Crazy?! Am I beginning to panic? Yes, but that's a fair reaction Tony, but I am NOT crazy. You need to take this more seriously! All the signs are there and there is literal Hydra graffiti on the-"
My breath goes shaky and my voice gets caught in my throat. What is happening to me? My chest feels so tight and is that, tears? Tears in my eyes? I can't fucking breathe.
"Red? Red, are you okay?"
I try to speak but my chest feels closed in and I shake my head as the only action I can muster whilst my breathing gets heavier and more ragged. I grip the seat of the car trying to regulate my breathing and a sudden look of realisation spreads across Tony's face and he immediately starts the car and speeds away from the bombardment of people around the car and the coffee shop.
"Red, you're having an anxiety attack, you need to do your best to regulate your breathing. Take deep and slow breaths, don't try and rush yourself."
Anxiety attack? Me? It's such a weird sensation, I have never had anything like this happen to me before. I nod listening to him, I remember him saying that after the attack on New York he struggled with both anxiety attacks and PTSD. Tony keeps speeding through every red light to get us back to the compound and I give him a pleading look and try speaking between gasps.
"Tony, how...am I meant to...relax when your driving... is gonna get us...KILLED?!"
He gives me an apologetic look.
"Oops, sorry."
The next thing I know he's slammed on the breaks after drifting us into an abandoned parking lot and I immediately lunge myself out of the car. I fall to my knees the fresh air hitting my lungs as I regulate my breathing and calm myself. I watch as Tony rushes over to me and rubs my back. Okay, so maybe he isn't so bad, I should give him a bit more credit.
Once I finally get my breath back, I sit down my back against the car and I look at Tony.
"Thank you, for the help."
He nods smiling and I take a sip of my coffee immediately spitting it back out.
"What the hell?"
I have a look at my coffee and see it's white so it definitely has milk or something similar and I give Tony a look and he grins sheepishly.
"Did I get the order wrong?"
I nod laughing and slowly stand up getting back into the car with the assistance of Tony and we begin driving again.
"Yes, you did, but that's okay, you're forgiven for helping me."
He nods again but the tone in his voice changes letting me know he's being much more serious.
"Red, you really worried me back there. You know you can talk to me right?"
I slowly nod, now actually believing him.
"I know Tony, thank you. Is it weird if I say I think that the 'attack' was because I was more worried about someone else? rather than myself?"
He shakes his head.
"No that's not weird, I've been the same when I have thought about Pepper's safety. It's difficult when you actually let yourself open up and care for others. It's like this whole new world of responsibility."
I nod chewing the inside of my cheek and he glances at me.
"Is it witchy you're worried about?"
I nod slowly.
"Wanda? Yeah, it is. If this is Hydra Tony, I feel like this is gonna be one of the biggest and most difficult things for her. She didn't lose her brother too long ago and she is still adjusting to being with us."
He smiles sadly at me.
"I know Red, but she trusts you, so as long as you're straight with her she'll be okay."
I nod picking at my nails.
"Hey, Tony?"
"Mhm?"
"Can we just keep what happened between you and me? I don't want anyone else to know."
He nods smiling gently.
"Sure Red."
I sigh as we pull up to the compound and I look at Tony nervously.
"Let's go and see what's happening."
