Chapter 40

Y/N's POV:

I squeeze Nat's hand gently as we walk to the kitchen area and are met by wolf whistles from Shuri and Wanda causing me to roll my eyes and Nat to go bright red. Wanda smiles getting up coming over to hug us both and I kiss the top of her head wrapping my arm around her and Shuri smiles at us.

"I hope it's not out of place for me to say, but Mrs and Mrs Romanoff, you's are looking hot!"

Nat and I laugh at her choice of words whilst Wanda groans rolling her eyes.

"Shuri, I actually swear you're obsessed with my parents."

"Tell me what's not to be obsessed with, they're great."

Nat smiles at her and nods.

"Thank you Shuri, you look lovely too."

I smile towards Nat and then Shuri looks between all of us and then frowns.

"Wait, you guys are leaving, aren't you?"

I smile sadly at her and I let go of Nat's hand walking over to the sofa kneeling in front of her taking her hands.

"Yeah, we are leaving today, but I wanted to speak to you about it in person. Have you hear it from me and not anybody else. Before I go, I just wanted to thank you for how much you've helped me whilst I've been here, how much you've done to help me get better and I'm gonna miss our breakfast dates."

She chuckles slightly letting me wipe the tears from her eyes with my thumb and she leans forward hugging me tightly and I smile gently holding her kissing her on the top of her head before pulling away. I smile gently at her moving her hair out of her face before taking a deep breath to relax and she smiles back at me.

"I mean, if you want and you don't mind, I can come to the compound, at the weekend, every other week and we can do breakfast and things? It gives me more of a chance to see Wanda too."

I see Wanda smile wide and I nod at Shuri's suggestion.

"Sure sweetheart, that's fine with us as long as your mom and your brother say it's okay. It'll be nice to have you around, gives me chance to try out any new tech of yours too."

She nods excitedly and I hear the kitchen doors slide open catching my attention and I smile when I see T'Challa and Okoye. I nod respectfully at the both of them and receive a smile back as T'Challa walks over to shake my hand and give me a tight hug which I gladly return. Once we pull away I smile at him as he smiles back.

"It's a shame to see you go Y/N, you've become an important asset and character here in Wakanda. You've seriously made an impression on our community and I'm happy with the improvement within yourself you have made."

"Thank you T'Challa. Thank you for everything, your hospitality, your help and just your genuine kindness. Without you and your people, I would most likely not be stood here right now, able to have control of my own mind to ensure the safety of my family."

He nods taking a step backwards to let Okoye come forward towards me and I smile gently at her opening my arms for her.

"Come here you."

She laughs walking forward into my arms hugging me tight and I hug back, patting her back smiling before I pull away.

"Okoye, I don't even know where to start. Honestly, just thank you so much for believing in me and sticking by me in the times that I wanted to give up. I couldn't have done this without you. Also, thank you for being a great sparring partner and teaching me how to not be scared of my powers but embrace them."
