Chapter 23

 Natasha's POV:

It's been a stressful few weeks at the compound since Bucky has come back. I feel awful for Y/N, she is trying her absolute hardest to avoid him and make sure that everything is okay. She doesn't want to cause any issues and give anybody a reason to make her mad or mark her as the bad guy.

I smile watching Y/N and Wanda train, it's doing absolute wonders for Wanda's confidence and the controlling of her powers. She's really improved since her training actually began. I'm so proud of both of them and how far each of them has come.  

"Babe?"

I turn my head to look at Y/N.

"Hm?"

"Wanda tried asking you if you wanted to go and get some food."

"Oh, sorry sweetie I was in my own little world. I'm down to get some food though, what were you thinking?"

She smiles excitedly.

"Can we go to that burger place you took me to in the first few months of me being here? We haven't been there in so long!"

I nod smiling.

"Of course baby. Let's go."

Y/N puts her arm out stopping us both and gives Wanda a playful look. 

"Go shower first, you're smelly."

Wanda gasps and I watch Y/N start running laughing.

"I'm gonna get you!"

I laugh shaking my head watching them chase each other through the compound like children. Unaware if I have a girlfriend and child or just 2 children. I watch them roughhousing in the kitchen and I roll my eyes leaning against the doorframe watching them both, the sounds of laughter echoing off of the walls.

"Right! That's enough you two, both of you go shower. I can smell you both from here."

They both whine and look at me.

"But-"

I shake my head giving them both the 'mom' look which I believe I'm getting really good at.

"No buts. Now go, both of you."

They both huff trudging to their rooms and I roll my eyes but I can't help but smile to myself walking towards Y/N and I's room. I hear the shower running and I walk into the bathroom stripping myself and I stand into the shower behind Y/N gently kissing the top of her shoulder.

"Hey, baby."

I smile when she turns to face me softly packing my lips wrapping her arms around my neck.

"Hey, you."

I move my hands to her hips smiling gently. 

"You okay with the burger place?"

"Yeah, babe of course I am. I'll drive if that's alright with you? I have a surprise for the both of you."

I raise my eyebrow in confusion.

"A surprise?"

She nods with a proud and triumphant smile on her face. God, she is so fucking cute.

"It's a good surprise, a really good surprise. You and Wands are gonna love it!"

I smile gently cupping her face kissing her passionately and I feel her melt into my touch. I pull away resting my forehead on hers just staying silent being comfortable in her embrace. I relax more into her touch feeling her tracing patterns on my lower back with her finger.
