A/N: The last chapter was really bad. I am sorry, I just needed a chapter with an explination of their plan. But, I hope this chapter makes up for it! It is juicy!
Warning: Some references to self-harm and smut
Katherine had a dilemma; she needed to figure out how to scan Bucky's face. Obviously, it had to with him not being aware of it. But, the question was, how does she get him to be unaware? She could drug him, but he would realize it after the fact, and she still needed him around.
It clicked; he had to be asleep. Now there is another problem. How does she get him to sleepover? At the moment, he was on his way over to her place. They were planning to have dinner there.
Deciding to distract herself from the set goal. She began cooking dinner. They were going to have Paprikash, a traditional Sokovian dish. Putting all the ingredients together, Katherine could slowly feel herself becoming less distracted.
The guilt, however, still crept back into her. This was becoming too much to handle. It ate at Katherine, knowing she was using Bucky for her own means. She knew how he felt about her. But, she could not decide how she felt toward him.
Suddenly there were three knocks at the door. Katherine had snapped out of her thoughts and looked to the Paprikash cooking slowly on the stove. Walking over to the door, she opened it.
There was Bucky with a big smile across his face holding a small thing of flowers. Katherine seeing how adorable Bucky was, made her heart melt. Walking in, he could smell the food cooking and felt his hunger increase.
"Smells great in here." he said, breathing in the air again. "Oh, and these are for you." He handed Katherine the flowers. Saying thank you, she took them. They were an arrangement of flowers. Taking a sniff, she could smell the floral scent each gave off.
"What are you making?" asked Bucky.
Realizing Katherine was still making food, she rushed over to the kitchen to check on the food. Bucky followed her, taking in more of the delicious smell. "It is Paprikash, it's a Sokovian dish," she said
"Do you miss Sokovia?"
Katherine froze at the question. In all honesty, she missed Sokovia very much. But, at this point, it was too destroyed to live there. Adding the final ingredients, she said, "I do, but I know I could never live there again. My country struggled but the people did not deserve what we got."
Bucky understood every word she said. He could tell it was still a challenging subject for her. Some way, he wished he could make that pain go away. Maybe have Romania be her home. Deep down, he wanted to be her home. However, his mind would never say it.
When the food finished, they grabbed their plates and served themselves. Sitting at the table, they began to eat. Katherine was reminded of when her mom would make it. It was always her favorite; Katherine would come home from school to the beautiful smell. Sometimes she would sneak a little plate before dinner. Most of the time, her mother caught her and made her put it back. Other times she would join Katherine with a little pre-dinner snack.
"Katherine, this is delicious." said Bucky. He was genuinely amazed by her cooking. It was as delicious as it had smelled. Each bite made Bucky love it even more.
Katherine smiled at the compliment, all the cooking she learned was from her mother, and she was proud it was enjoyable. "Thank you," she said.
Throughout the meal, Bucky and Katherine talked about random things. The main discussion was whether cereal was a soup. "That does not make sense! In order to be a soup it has to be warm!" said Bucky. He was completely blown away by the fact Katherine said cereal is considered a soup.
