Katherine laid awake on Bucky's chest. He was asleep; faint little snores could be heard. Immense guilt overtook Katherine. First, she slept with him. Now was the perfect opportunity to scan his face and sent it to her father. Second, Bucky loved her, and she said it back.

It was never supposed to get this far; they were never supposed to get this close. But, Bucky was not the one to hurt her; it was the Avengers. Katherine was torn between what she wanted vs. what she had. She wanted the Avengers to fall and burn. But she had Bucky.

I love you. Those three damn words drove her crazy. Did she love Bucky? That was a question she could not answer. Well, it was more of a question she refused to address.

He is just a means to an end. He is just a means-. He is just-. He-.

The words slowly lost meaning to Katherine. Then, something snapped. She remembered Carl, her mom, and her grandfather. They are dead, and they can never come back. The Avengers caused this. They destroyed Sokovia to dust.

Katherine slowly moved away from Bucky. She went to the edge of the bed, where a nightstand was sitting. Going into the drawer, she grabbed the device. Turning back toward Bucky, she saw how peaceful he was. She wondered if he ever got nightmares from his time in Hydra.

Then, she turned on the device. For a second, she hesitated again; maybe she should not do this? But, no, she has to, for her family, for Sokovia. Pressing the button, a bright light emitted from the device. She hoped it won't wake him up. Scanning his face, the light went up, down, and side to side.

The device read, scan complete, on the side. Sliding out of bed, Katherine tried to not wake up Bucky. She walked slowly to her computer in the living room. Opening it up, she connected the device to her computer.

It was uploading the images of his face. Katherine's screen was now full of images of Bucky's face. Images downloaded, read the screen. All she had left was to send those images to Zemo.

Using her email, she had to make sure her VPN was rerouted so there would be no trace back to her. Filing the images, she put them in an email. No other words were typed out. Then, hearing a loud sound behind her, she froze in place. Looking over her shoulder, she saw nothing but the hallway.

She brushed it off, assuming it was someone above her. Finally, the file was ready to send. Clicking send, she heard Bucky's voice.

"What are you doing?"

Shit, she thought. She removed the device and closed her computer in one swift motion. All of her hoped he did not see anything she had just done.

"Umm...I couldn't sleep and...I was just checking some emails." she said back. Her voice sounded a bit uncertain, but she hoped he did not notice.

Bucky did not really register what she said. He was too tired to process her words. All he knew was Katherine was not near him, and he went to find her. But, for him, he just wanted her to go back to bed with him.

"Well, come back to bed." he said in a whining tone. Katherine smiled at him, begging. But more so cause she was safe. Bucky reached out his hand. Standing up, she took it, and they walked back to bed.

Bucky went in first, and Katherine followed. They laid facing each other, looking into each other's eyes. "You know, this was the best I have slept in a long time?" he said. Katherine did not know what to say to that.

"I usually have nightmares from my time in the military. But...being here with you, I didn't have any." Bucky gave her a slight smile. She meant everything to him. Katherine made him better, not just mentally but emotionally. There was a calm in his life for the first time in a long time.
