John Walker

Bucky woke up to an empty bed. He was not surprised by this, only disappointed. Regardless, he did get a good night's sleep. The sun was shining in through the window; that was what woke him up in the first place.

It seemed to be later in the morning. Usually, Bucky was awake and up by 5am, before the sun fully came out. He never slept in. Looking at the clock, it was almost 10am. Holy shit! Damn, Bucky felt refreshed as ever. For that, he had to thank Katherine.

Eventually, he got up and went to the kitchen where everyone else was at. Sam, Katherine, and Zemo were eating and enjoying each other's company. This was a weird sight to see. Either way, it brought a smile to Buck's face.

Sam was the first to see Bucky walk into the kitchen, "Hey, there is sleeping beauty! Have a good sleep?"

His voice and facial expressions made Bucky know he was asking about something more. You slept in Katherine's bed? How was that man? Bucky just ignored him.

Everyone laughed at Sam's remark toward Bucky. Zemo offered him some food, which he accepted. Bucky went to sit in between Sam and Katherine.

Katherine watched Bucky sit and begin eating. He looked better, more like Bucky. She could not say it was because of her, but Katherine was glad he could sleep in with no nightmares.

"Thank you," whispered Bucky in between bites.

"For what?" responded Katherine.

Leaning in, he said, "For the good sleep."

Katherine gave a slight chuckle. Bucky soon joined her. Then, at the moment, he pulled her into a side hug. It was unintentional but felt right. She did not fight it, but she leaned into Bucky's body. They enjoyed the moment, the calm.

"Karli Morgenthau is too dangerous for you guys to be pulling this shit." spat John Walker.

"Ah! How'd you find us now?" yelled Bucky.

The four of them were on their way to Donya's funeral. But someone found them, the new Captain America and his partner, Battlestar. There was nothing much they could do but entertain themselves. Bucky seemed to already be annoyed by their presence. Sam was just cautious.

"Come on. You think two Avengers can walk around Latvia without drawing attention?"

They were drawing attention. Some quickly recognized Bucky and Sam's faces. But when Walker showed up, even more attention was going their way. With his anger and annoyance it did not help at all.

"No more keeping us in the dark. You could start by telling us why you broke them out of prison." said Walker.

"They both did that themselves, technically." responded Bucky.

"This better be an un believable explana-"

Sam stepped in, "Hey, take it easy before it gets weird."

God, they are all annoying, thought Katherine. At this point, it was just a bunch of guys yelling, which was not getting anywhere. While Katherine and Zemo were waiting for their assets to arrive. Katherine looked at Zemo; it was the look of can you believe this?

So, he stepped in, "I know where Karli is."

That seemed to shut everyone up. They all looked at Zemo, wide-eyed. Trying to continue walking, Walker stopped both Katherine and Zemo. "Well, where?" he asked.

"All we know is, it's a memorial." said Sam.

Zemo just pushed past Walker; following him was Katherine. Behind them, the four guys kept bickering at one another about the best course of action. Honestly, Katherine stopped listening when Walker started talking again. She could tell he was not the good, righteous man he wanted to be; there was a darker side waiting to come out.
