Chapter 5. FML - Dan's P.O.V

After leaving the cafe angry, I somehow ended up at the pub. Drinking anything I could get my hands on, ( She had a date, Already. I mean for fucks sake, she didn’t date me because of the shit she’s been through, but why someone else! Why not Me ) I thought as I drowned my anger in booze. Beth kept calling me and texting me, along with Phil, Pj and Chris, but I just couldn’t deal with this shit. After sitting there for a number of hours, I got up and walked back to Ellie’s flat. I knew it was a stupid idea, but I wanted to talk to her. I stood in front of the door attempting to use the key Ellie had given me, but I was seeing 3 doorknobs, so it was a problem. When I finally got the door open, I walked in and sat on the sofa, in the dark. Around 5 pm ish, she finally got home and everything went to shit. ” My god, you’re creepy! ” she shouted clutching her chest ( I tried to think of something to say, but nothing came out ), ” Did you have fun on your date? ” I questioned ( Great ). She rolled her eyes, ” It wasn’t a date, he’s new in town and we were just hanging out ” she stated. ( Oh god, don’t make it worse ) I scoffed with a small chuckle, ” You might think that’s all it was, but he didn’t. Trust me, he was thinking about doing a lot more than just hanging out, all guys are the same ” I sighed ( Shit ). I could tell that she was starting to get angry, ” No shit, I know all guys want the same thing. But I can’t let that stop me from ever having to talk to guy’s ” she stated. ( But Why? ) I glared at her for some reason, ” But Even after what Max did to you, you shouldn’t trust guy’s so easily ” I sighed. ” Dan, I’ve gotten over that. Why can’t you! I’m sick of hearing his fucking name, I’m sick of everyone fucking bringing it up! I dealt with this shit from Jeremy and I dealt with it from Max, I’m over it! ” she shouted, I stood up and walked closer to her. I don’t know why I did that, I just did. ” How can you just move on from me so easily? ” I asked stupidly, ” I don’t wanna fight over this….. And I’m not the one that moved on, okay. You’re the one with the girlfriend of 3 months, or however long you’ve been dating her…. Dan, I think you need to leave ” she exclaimed ( Why did I say that in the first place ). I randomly smirked ” No “, she glared at me. ” Fine, I’ll leave then! ” she yelled pushing past me and walking out of her flat, ” Fuck! ” I sighed as I collapsed on her sofa ( I handled that well ). I’d wait here until the morning, hopefully she’d calm down and I’d sober up, so we can have a mature conversation and because I wanted to apologize for being jealous.

When the sun rose, I searched around Ellie’s flat, but she was still gone. I called Alec and even Joe, but none of them had seen her. So I walked slowly back to my flat, I didn’t know how to explain to Phil and Beth, what happened last night. Beth would think something was going on between Ellie and I, even last night, that’s how I made it seem tho. Ellie was really the only one I wanted to be with, but she had so many problems. Beth made me happy and I cared a lot about her, plus we never fought, there was never a problem between us ( But it was kinda boring, fighting just spiced everything up a little ). I just couldn’t stop thinking about Ellie, that was the problem. I sluggishly walked into my place, attempting to stay quiet, I really didn’t wanna play 50 questions with Phil. He heard me anyway as I walked up the steps and walked into the kitchen, ” Dan! Where have you been? ” Phil exclaimed. I shrugged, ” I was at the pub and then at Ellie’s, I’ve got a headach Phil. I need some sleep ” I sighed. ” What happened? ” Phil asked, ” We got into a fight ” I stated. ” Oh gosh! ” Phil sighed, ” I’m going to sleep, let me know if anyone calls for me? ” I stated walking into my room. ” Well Beth has called me at least 20 times today, are you going to call her back? ” Phil asked as he followed me, I nodded. ” I will, I just need some sleep ” I sighed, Phil nodded. I laid down in bed, but I couldn’t sleep. And after laying there for 2 hours, I grabbed my phone and called Beth. Hopefully she wouldn’t be too mad at me, but like always, all I did was lie to her. I was still in love with my friend, or my ex, which ever one Ellie was. I thought I was over her, but I could’t bring myself to do that, but I wasn’t going to just end this realationship with Beth. Because, I could never tell if Ellie felt the same way….
