Chapter 14. Is it True?

My alarm went off around 11 am, of course Dan was gone, but I expected it. I was mortified about what potentially happened last night, ( We were friends and friends aren’t supposed to do…. That! ). I continued to lay their for hours, with the negative thoughts swimming around in my brain. I had to shut off my phone, because it wouldn’t stop ringing. I didn’t want to see or talk to anyone today, I was just confused about everything. That didn’t stop Alec tho, he barged into my flat moments later. ” Why hello Mr. Bernie, Where is your Mommy? ” he cooed to Bernie, causing me to roll my eyes.         ” Elle? ” he asked as he walked through my flat, I didn’t answer. He then walked into my room without even knocking, my eyes lit up when I noticed he had Lyle with him. I sat up and reached out, ” Give me that boy! ” I demanded. He chuckled handing Lyle over to me, ” Ellie, are you okay? ” he asked. I shrugged, ” I guess, I do have a pretty bad headache. Why? ” I asked cuddling Lyle close. He sighed ” I know what happened last night, Dan called me this morning, panicking “, ” What did he say? ” I questioned. ” Not much, he called and shouted into the phone ’ I slept with Ellie! ‘. Then he just hung up ” Alec explained, ” See, I don’t even know what that means. Does it mean we had sex? ” I sighed. He shrugged, ” Do you think you had sex? ” he asked with a smirk. ” Yeah…. ” I stated, he chuckled ” Well then, I hate to break it to you, but you definitely had sex with him “. I looked down, ” Oh god, I’m a horrible person. Alec, he has a girlfriend, oh my god. I’m a hoe ” I sighed rocking Lyle back and fourth. ” Ellie, don’t beat yourself up about it, you’re only human, you made a mistake. I mean you love him and you’re definitely aren’t a hoe ” he smiled, I shook my head. ” Alec, I wanted to do it tho ” I sighed. He stared at me confused, ” For how long? ” he asked. I shrugged awkwardly, ” Since before he and Beth started dating ” I sighed. He glanced down, ” Wow. Well, he must’ve wanted it too, or else it wouldn’t of happened ” Alec stated. ” We were both so Drunk tho, Neither of us knew what we were doing and that makes me feel even worse ” I sighed looking at Lyle, who was now asleep in my arms. ” Elle, stop worrying. Everything will blow over soon enough, then everything will go back to normal. Just wait and see ” he smiled, I nodded. ” I hope so ” I whispered,   ( I hope so ).

A few hours went by, Alec was now gone and it was back to me being alone. I had finally turned on my phone, now I was being called by Scottie. ” Hello? ” I questioned quietly, ” Ellie? Are you alright? ” he asked. ” Yeah, I’ve just got a bit of a headache. Why? ” I questioned, ” Last night you left the party really sloppy and drunk, I just wanted to make sure you got home safely ” he stated. ” I’m fine Scottie, I swear…… But, who brought me home. Who did I leave the party with? ” I questioned ( Even tho it was obvious ), ” Dan, Why? ” he asked sounding really confused. ” Was he acting just as drunk, as I was? ” I asked, he paused for a second. ” No, he wasn’t as drunk as you were. He knew what was going on, unlike you, who wouldn’t stop talking about chocolate chip pancakes ” he chuckled, ( Wait, What? ) ” Why, what’s going on? Elle, you’re freaking me out ” he added. ” Scottie, everything is fine. I didn’t get a lot of sleep last night and I was just curious as to how I got home ” I stated, ” Alright, Well I’m on my way over. I’ve got food… ” he was smiling, I could just tell. I smiled, ” Fine, the door’s open ” I sighed. He chuckled as he hung up the phone, I honestly didn’t wanna be alone anymore. I stood up and sighed, as I put on some sweat pants and a over-sized jumper. Then I looked in the mirror, ” Urg…. God ” I exclaimed ( My hair was a mess and so was my face, lipstick was spread across me cheek, I had black eyes from the mascara I was wearing ). I looked like a rabid raccoon, it wasn’t pretty. I quickly washed my face and sighed, I glanced at my refection again ( I hated what I saw right now, especially after what happened last night. I wouldn’t be surprised if Dan ever talked to me again ). I walked into my lounge and sat on the sofa, it wasn’t long until Scottie showed up. ” Okay, I have snacks and some of your favorite movies, are you ready ” he questioned as he walked into my flat, I shot him a half smile, ” Ellie, What’s wrong? ” he asked sitting on the sofa next to me. I shrugged, but stayed quiet. He poked my cheek, ”Tell Me! ” he pouted. I smiled ” No Scottie, I can’t right now. I need to figure some things out first “, he stared at me confused for a second. ” Okay, if you need to talk about it, you know how to find me ” he smiled, I nodded and returned the smile. ” Oh, I brought these for you ” he smirked handing me a container of food, I opened it, there were chocolate chip pancakes in it. ” You wouldn’t stop talking about how much you wanted them ” he smiled, I smiled at him again. ” Thank You ” I smirked as I hugged him, I hugged him longer than I meant too, but he didn’t mind. Scottie and I sat around for the rest of the day, watching movies, talking, just having a nice time. It definitely took my mind off of everything that just happened, I don’t know, Scottie just made me feel happy and safe. Maybe I dismissed him too quickly, maybe I should of given him a better chance. Or I was just thinking crazy because of last night, but the more time I spent with Scottie the more I got attached to him, which scared me a bit.
