Chapter 12. Love? - Dan's P.O.V

I left the cafe and walked home, I seriously impressed with how mature Ellie handled herself today. When I walked into my flat, Beth was already there. ” Hey, I thought we were meeting at the cinema… And where’s Phil? ” I asked, she shrugged ” Phil left as soon as I got here, I don’t think he likes me very much. Plus we need to talk ” ( Oh gosh ). ” About what? ” I asked, ” About you and Ellie ” Beth stated. I looked at her confused, ” Oh.. What about us? ” I questioned. She sighed, ” I’ve just noticed that the two of you spend a lot of time together, I mean aren’t Ex’s supposed to hate each other. You guys look like you’re in a relationship with each other some times ” she explained. I let out a deep sigh, ” Are you sure there’s nothing going on between you guy’s, because I swear if you’re two timing me with that little slut, you’ll never see me again ” she spat. I’d never seen this side of Beth before, why was she so Angry?. ” Are you actually accusing me of cheating on you? Are you kidding me, I’d never be able to handle trying to sneak around and date two people, My god! ” I exclaimed, she sighed and shook her head. ” But why are you always over there? ” Beth questioned, ” You know Ellie is going through some things, she needs as much support as she can get ” I stated. Beth rolled her eyes, ” You mean she wants attention, that’s all she ever wants is attention! ” she spat. I shoved my hands in my pockets and sighed, it wasn’t bad until the room fell silent. ” So is anything going on between the two of you? ” she asked again, ” No… ” I stated looking at my feet. ” Well then, will you please spend a little less time with her and more time with me? Actually, I don’t want you to spend anytime with her at all ” she stated with a smile on her face, ( How was that going to work, I still had feelings for Ellie, What was Beth asking me to do, stop being friends with Ellie ). I looked at her and nodded, but that was all ( I hate this feeling ).

Beth and I didn’t go to the cinema, things didn’t feel right after our conversation. [ A Few Hours Later ] I was on the sofa eating a take - away dinner, I didn’t feel right about this and it didn’t help that Ellie had been texting me all day. I just ignored all of messages she sent, I wasn’t sure what I was going to do. Either give up this relationship with Beth and hope Ellie would want to date again, or give up on any type of friendship I ever had with Ellie, which means ignoring all these feelings I had for her. Phil was gone all day, I had no idea where he was. I just kept asking myself the same questions ( Was Beth worth it? Why was I putting myself through this? Could I just forget all about Ellie? ) I wondered why I was even with Beth. It’s obvious that Ellie has got the same feelings for me, as I do for her. ( Do Ellie and I secretly Love each other? I wonder what she’s doing right now? ) I thought over and over again, I hate what this girl’s doing to me. Another hour went by, until Phil finally came home. ” Where were you? ” I asked him, he shrugged ” At Ellie’s, with Joe, Caspar and Scottie “. ( Ugh, why is this kid Scottie always with Ellie, does he have something sneaky planned ) I thought, ” What did you and Beth talk about? ” Phil asked. I sighed ” She thinks I’m cheating on her with Ellie and she thinks you don’t like her “, he nodded. ” I don’t ” he stated, I looked at him confused. ” What? I thought you did ” I asked, clearly I was confused. ” I did at first, she seemed nice and normal. But I’ve seen the way she treats you, and how she orders you around like you’re her dog and I don’t like it. Plus, she’s kinda boring… ” he sighed ( He has a point ), ” She’s nothing like Elle ” he mumbled seconds later. I rolled my eyes, ” Oh, you just want me to be with Ellie! ” I exclaimed. He nodded, ” Well Yeah! Then we can all live happily ever after together and I know you want that too ” he stated. I paused for a second, only for a second. ” See, I knew it! You’re so In Love with Ellie ” Phil exclaimed happily, I shook my head, but I had a smile on my face. I guess it was true, but what was I going to do about it. ” Are you going to Joe and Caspar’s party tomorrow? ” Phil asked, I nodded. ” Is Scottie going? ” I questioned, he sighed and nodded. ” Why do you hate him so much? ” Phil questioned, I shrugged ” I just think he’s bad news, I feel like he’s going to hurt her “. Phil sighed ” I don’t think he will, not everyone’s like Max “, I nodded. Phil was right, I could at least give Scottie a chance, I might just misunderstand him. I hadn’t made up my mind whether or not I wanted to brake things off with Beth, I did care a lot about her, I just didn’t know if I loved Beth. One thing for sure is, I was in Love with Ellie……
