Chapter 22. I made a Giant Mistake - Dan's P.O.V

I stood there speechless, I couldn’t move. Did I just hear what I think I heard? ” Dan? Dan? Are you okay? ” Phil questioned from behind me, ” What do you think? ” I sighed. He nodded, ” Should I ask everyone to leave? ” he asked. I nodded as I walked into the kitchen, it’s not like I was going to eat anything, How could I?. I honestly didn’t know what I was going to do. Seconds later Phil walked into the kitchen, letting me know that everyone was gone. I nodded and then walked back into the lounge, Phil followed. ” Do you want to talk about what just happened? ” he asked, I shook my head. ” No, I don’t ” I sighed trying to wrap my head around all this. ” Do you think it’s true? Do you think she’s…. ” I asked quietly, Phil sighed ” Yeah, Dan why would she say that if it wasn’t true? “. I shrugged ” What if it’s not mine?… I mean she’s just assuming that it’s mine, but honestly. I could be anyone’s, even tho it’s probably Scottie’s “, Phil rolled his eyes. ” Now you know that’s not true, Dan. Ellie’s not a slut ” Phil stated, I just scoffed. I don’t know why I was acting this way, I guess I was just in shock. Phil shook his head, ” Dan stop acting like this! You might just have lost Ellie forever, do you even Care? ” Phil exclaimed. I shrugged, ” I mean, of course I care. I’m just drained from this relationship I have with her. Maybe I’m just tired of all this, of her… ” I sighed ( It was all a lie tho ). Phil glared at me, ” So what now, you slept with her and now she’s pregnant, so you don’t want her anymore? Have your feelings for her, just Magically changed? ” he questioned. I shrugged again, but didn’t answer. Phil stood up with a glare on his face, ” Fine, keep acting like you don’t care. But don’t come crying to me, when you spend all night trying to talk to Ellie, and she won’t want anything to do with you ” he exclaimed walking toward the front door. ” Where are you going? ” I asked him, ” Since you’re not going to go after her, I am! Because I still want to be her friend, because she’s nice and I like her ” he shouted slamming the door behind him.

I let out a frustrated sigh, maybe I made a mistake. I still cared about her, a lot. I just don’t understand why I was treating her this way, she didn’t deserve to be treated this way. But geez, a baby. I don’t think I could handle raising a baby, I quickly shook my head. There were too many questions flowing around my head, this was all just to much… I wonder how Ellie was taking all this so well, maybe she wasn’t. I just never thought I’d have to go through something like this, why me? why us? Things were going to change, whether I decided to be a father to the baby or not. I don’t think I could go through life without Ellie’s little face or without her smart ass remarks and her eye rolls. ( What have I done? Why am I such an asshole? What if Phil’s right, what if she doesn’t ever want anything to do with me? ) I thought over and over, I had too make it up to her, I had to think of something…. Anything…..
