"As it turned out, I might have been wrong to underestimate the prophecy." Commander Chen's voice was solemn.
Four pairs of midnight-blue, maroon-red, honey-brown, and magenta-pink orbs doubled in size. Terror and disbelief registered in the critters' eyes, fading into somber graveness as their hearts sank.
"So the lizard is back, then?" Sammy sighed, his face gloomy despite the fluorescent lights of the meeting room.
Reluctantly, Commander Chen dipped his head. "Our soldiers near the Calling Cliffs have reported sighting of dark energy -- and Pascal himself."
He paused a beat before breaking the next piece of news. "And from the looks of it, Pascal has gained power far more powerful than any he's ever possessed, we have no knowledge of how he has managed to gain such power, but enforcing a storm as violent as such takes immense energy."
"Oh jeez," Volt groaned. "And just when I thought our Pascal days are behind us."
"What are we going to do...?" Lucy whimpered, her pink paws obscuring her mouth. Commander Chen sighed heavily.
There was a long moment of despairing silence. The Miniforce members avoided eye contact and stared down at their corners of the hologram table - it was a strange moment to notice the detailed engravings and fluorescent trimmings. Then Volt decided they were wearing faces far too grim for the current knowledge.
The blue squirrel glanced up, determination glistening in his midnight-blue eyes. "Well, the lizard's crawled outta his hole, and we'll kick him right back in!" He joked.
His teammates lifted their gazes, it was times like these that they - including Sammy - were thankful of having Volt as a leader.
"We've kicked his butt once, and nothing will stop us from doing it again! And most definitely not a little thunder! The reason Pascal caused all this commotion was surely for show, and boy do we have a performance for him!"
Sammy, Lucy, Max, and even Commander Chen felt their lips stretching into a smile. Commander Chen hid a proud chuckle by coughing into his gloved fist. Sammy opened his beak to rain over the arrogant little leader's parade, but closed it after some consideration, shaking his head with a smirk. The confidence in Volt's eyes was both alluring and contagious.
Instead of a trivial insult to hold down Volt's pride, Sammy nodded.
Lucy beamed. "Then let's put on the best show we've ever performed."
"I'm gonna present that guy with a piece of my mind!" Max forcefully punched his fist into his palm, smirking.
"Then what are we waiting for?" Volt prompted with a mischievous grin, balling his tiny fists.
Commander Chen dipped his head in approval. "Very well, MG03 team, dispatch to investigate the Calling Cliffs!" He commanded.
"Yes, Commander!"
..........
Gusts of powerful wind fought against the four transformed rangers as they traveled nearer to the suspected location.
Battle armors gleamed over their leather zentai suits, pieced by many segments of iron, the suited sheathing shielding their chest and shoulders. Metalclad boots reached up to their knees, clunking in rhythm with their simultaneous gaits.
Symbolic animal ears sprouted above their full-face helmets, leaving polished black visors for their eyes, and white plates masking their faces.
Encased head-to-toe in iron and leather, the rangers could easily be mistaken for colorful robots.
