Pebbles cracked beneath her feet as she walked, the fresh spring grass and flowers blooming beside the path.
Y/N thought she was good with change. Moving forward was her thing now.

After they'd spoken with Erwin, they decided it was best to move from the castle into a more remote area. With three people within their group on someone's target and a spy ruining their plans, it only made sense to hide further away.
Hange had no objections, as long as experiments could continue, and Levi had been quick to leave the old place behind.

Now together, she thought things might finally get back to normal.
"Your hair has gotten longer."
Levi brushed his hand through it as they walked together down the trail.
"Might have to cut it again."
She shivered, "I'll take my chances."

Y/N wasn't limping anymore, with the pain in her leg gone.
"Eren's hardening experiments aren't going so well."
"No," she sighed, "not to mention that not every transformation is good. We've still got a lot to learn about him."
"And you."
"We're taking a break from me since we were ratted out. I think my brain needs to rest."
He poked her temple, "it's always resting."

Levi stopped when he noticed the unnatural downturn of her lips.
"Y/N, are you alright?"
Turning to meet him, she hummed, "of course I am."
"I know it's different. We have no other choice."
She tried to grin, pretending like she was unsure what he meant.
"I took you far from your home and now I've taken you farther."
"Levi—"
She grabbed his wrists, "you don't have to—"

"We have to talk about it eventually, Y/N. You can't pretend like you joined the scouts out of free will."
"But—I did. Sorta..."
"I keep dragging you places, putting you in bad situations all because of an ability we still don't understand. I made you go on that expedition, I made you go with Miche, and I got soft when you begged to go find Reiner and Bertolt."
"Levi, stop this right now."
Y/N tugged on his wrists, the leaves on the trees shaking with the wind.
"You didn't make me do anything. You said it yourself that stuff like that happens. It's not your fault when bad things happen to me. Don't talk like me."
