"Will you stop being a baby?"
Y/N hid behind a chair someone was residing in.
"No! I don't want you to!"
"Y/N, you have to."
"No!"Levi grumbled as he walked into the dining room, slamming the door behind him.
"What's all this ruckus for?"
Petra peered up at Y/N with a smile growing on her lips.
"Y/N won't let me cut her hair," Nathan replied, scissors in hand.
"It took years to grow this out!"
"Okay, And?"
Nathan tried to catch her around the table, but she continued to evade, pushing past Levi.
"I haven't had a haircut since childhood and I don't need one now!"Nathan nodded without listening, attempting to trap her or simply wait out her energy.
"You do need one. Tying it up won't help."
"I will not let you ruin my single dedication! My mother liked long hair!"
He rolled his eyes, snipping the scissors with his fingers, "So do Titans."
Y/N stuck out her tongue, "They think I'm gross! In fact, I'm incredibly offended by it!"
In defeat, Nathan slumped into a chair, sliding the scissors across the table.
"Whatever, Y/N."Eyeing his hands to make sure he wouldn't sneak up on her, she too sat down, finally making Levi's headache go away.
"Anyway..." he mumbled, "We still need to prep everybody. Nathan needs to be fit for ODM. L/N, you can continue training tomorrow morning."
Settling down with a deep sigh, he took a cup of tea strangely in his hands, gaining the attention of Y/N.
Cracked teacups and dirtied dishes filled her mind. She'd cried over shattered glass more than a few times.Levi found her eyes, feeling her stare. She felt embarrassed that he noticed, holding her hands in her lap and looking anywhere but the head of the table.
Y/N felt tired sitting in such a dark room, the only lights being the candles hung on the wall.
She wanted to fight said tiredness, for the sake of her hair, but it was more than difficult to do so.As her shoulders swayed, trying to drop her weight, someone broke the room's silence.
"So why do you fall asleep?"
She blinked up at the rather old-looking man, despite his real age, hair topping with a dirty blond color.
"Me? Oh—uh, I don't know."
"That's it? It's just a mystery?" Oluo pressed further.
"Yeah? I lived with doctors, I mean—I am one."
Y/N pressed her finger on top of her skull, candlelight flickering in her eyes.
"I hypothesize that something is missing in my brain. Something that's meant to keep me awake for longer than a few minutes."
