It had become nightfall, with the scouts moving on foot through the darkness.
They held their lamps with their hoods over their heads, silently walking in hopes nothing would come out to bite them.

A soldier tripped, startling Y/N whose eyes were heavy. The darkness was getting to her, the long ride already making her tired enough.
"Once we're over this mountain, Shiganshina should be close by."
They kept their voices hushed, not saying one another's names in case enemies were close by.
"Surprised how little trouble we've run into," Sasha nudged Y/N's shoulder, "maybe your radius is farther than you think."
"Don't jinx it," Connie whispered.
"Tonight feels so weird," Y/N told them, "like when Wall Rose had falsely fallen."
"What makes you say so?"
"It's like we're being lead there. A perfect path with a supposed perfect outcome."
"We've planned for this," Sasha tried to assure, tugging up her hood which was slowly falling, "that's why it feels different."
"Maybe."

Slowly, everyone's voice faded away, the lights in everyone's hands blurry and streaking her vision.
Y/N sniffled, yawning before she stopped walking.
Jean, who was arguing with Eren bumped into her, "Whoah, Y/—are you alright?"
Her body was swaying, knees about to buckle. He could hear soft purrs coming from her, a few scouts observing her closed eyes.

"Hey," Levi approached, "you can't fall asleep now...dipshit."
His fingers curled under her chin, lifting her face which glowed in his lantern. She blinked slowly.
"I'm—I'm sorry. The sky is pretty—so I'm sleepy."
He sighed, taking her hand, "Apologies. Let's get you atop my horse. You shouldn't have walked this far."
Levi aided her atop, where Y/N rested against the horse's mane, arms dangling.
Before she could doze off, Jean shouted, "Titan! Back up!"
"It's alright," Hange assured, shining their light on it, "I think he's asleep. Isn't that a shame?"
They continued on.

Walking along, Levi and his squad kept their eyes ahead, giving quick glances to Y/N every now and then.
At one moment, Levi felt a tug on his hood, looking up at Y/N who was barely awake.
"Go back to sleep."
"This feels wrong."
"What does?"
He kept their conversation quiet, shooting glares at the scouts who watched them.
"This mission."
"I won't deny that. But we can't turn back now."
