"Young-sun..."The woman left in shambles from their last encounter scoffs. Chest swelling as she stows her true feelings. Eyes falling onto the bouquet of daylilies in the others hand as a peace offering.
Her head lowers when her body begins to shake.
She's pulled in by her lover standing in the hallway, arms entangling each other. Young-sun hiccups on the constriction in her throat keeping her from being vocal about her anguish. Her arms squeeze tighter as if she still can't believe she's here in her apartment after years of separation, how Young-sun's longed for the days they savor the feel of one another's touch in the comfort of their silence. Her lover smells different, though familiar. The crinkle of clothing as they shift in stance unlaxes Young-sun's fraught mind.
She can't stop crying. An ugly sight at that. Snot drooling down her lips, mouth wide and wobbly. Face all red and shiny. The girl hugging her is just as bad, laughing through her tears as her fingers weave in between Young-sun's black hair. This is what missing someone feels like. A weird sensation when first felt, unknown and never experienced before. Leaving a sense of confusion, yet longing of the other.
y/n hated it. Knowing she'd feel this again once she departs for good. It'll be icky this time. It'll hurt worse. She wasn't ready, having no choice but to continue her path. She can't stop now, she's gotten too far to mess up this opportunity. Though she understands what all she has to sacrifice in order to keep herself alive, she wonders if what she's doing will somehow cause a shift...
When they pull away, they're staring lovingly at one another, a promising smile on their lips. The love that was there had never diminished. Only growing the longer they stayed apart. Young-sun's closing the gap until her lover pulls away. The older woman moves back, a little hurt by her action.
y/n lowers her eyes, feeling guilty for denying her affection. She doesn't want to...she just feels guilty for what she's about to say next. "..I...I need your help, Young-sun." The woman's brows dip. Her expression changes to worry rather than distraught. She immediately nods, hands rising to grip y/n's arms. She tells her she'll help her with anything. Anything. As long as she knows her twin flame doesn't go out.
An average height man appears behind her lover in the hallway. Face covered in bandages and abrasions. Stature jittery and vulnerable. Skin pale, hair dark, body gaunt. He looks like a zombie, posture hunched unnaturally.
Young-sun begins to process her beloves words in those three seconds. Looking between her significant other and the man standing in the doorway as y/n studies her face for any signs of refusal. "I need you to let him stay refuge in your apartment—then, once everything is sorted, he's gone."
Young-sun hadn't realized they had been rained on until she lowers her eyes down to the medium-size puddles forming on her wood flooring, or the now damp feeling of her clothes on her skin. She contemplates if she should be mad at the water damage they're causing, or the damage y/n's causing by interrupting her life with the shit she's caught up in.
"I don't even know who this man is!" Young-sun exasperates. y/n quickly pulls the man in and shuts the door, realizing that they can't be causing too much ruckus, especially at four in the morning. She earns an annoyed look from Young-sun before y/n asks the other to have a conversation about this situation in the next room.
Young-sun's reluctant, eyes darting over to the man who has yet to be addressed peering back at her with a distant look. She wonders if her ex-lover is taking into account just how uncomfortable this situation is making her feel. She doesn't feel like it's a good idea to have him alone by himself in one part of her home while the two women are in another part.
